Forgetting The Painful Effort

Chapter 8

Darrick's POV

"You're our son. " Devonte tells me, and my eyes widen a lot.

"Are you sure?" I ask him, and he nods right away.

I already noticed that I look a lot like Tareek, but I never even thought that he might be my father.

"Then why did I grow up with rogues?" I ask him with a frown.

I'm pretty sure that he wants me to stay here, even though I'm an Omega.

So, I really have no idea why they would have let me stay with the rogues, if they wanted me here.

"They kidnapped you when you were a baby, and we didn't manage to find you until now." Wren explains, and the other two men nod in agreement.

"Are all three of you my fathers?" I ask them, because I'm pretty sure that it's not possible.

"Devonte and Tareek are your biological fathers. Half of our kids is Devonte's and half of them is mine.

But neither of us really cares about it anymore." Wren says, and I nod slowly.

"I want to see Lewis." I say when my head starts to hurt from all of the information.

I didn't see Lewis after he brought me here, and I'm still angry at him for doing that.

But I guess that I can forgive him, because I really want to get out of here, before the kids will wake up.

And I already talked with him enough to know that he won't be as annoying as them.

"The man that brought you here?" Tareek asks, and I nod in agreement.

"I think that he's at work now, but I guess that I can give him a day off if you want to hang out with him." Devonte says, but I can see that he's not happy about it.

I just nod, so he stands up, and he leaves he living room.

"Just don't let Lewis get you in trouble. He likes to do things that he shouldn't do." Wren says, and I nod slightly.

I have no idea what he's talking about, but I don't want to ask about it.

"He will come here in a few minutes, and he will take you to the pack house." Devonte says when he comes back a few minutes later.

"Thanks." I say, and he nods in acknowledgement.

I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't allow me to hang out with Lewis, but it seems that he wants me to meet more people, and I already refused to do that.

So, I guess that he's hoping that Lewis will help me find a few other people that I will want to hang out with.

We talk for a while longer, before I hear that someone's knocking on the front door.

I stand up, and I follow Wren until we reach the door that leads outside.

He opens it, and I smile when I see Lewis.

He looks a bit confused, but he smiles back anyway.

"Bring him back before it will get dark, and make sure to give him something to eat." Wren says, and then he lets me go towards Lewis.

"I got it." Lewis says, before he leads me in the direction of the pack house.
