Lewis' POV

"I don't think that it's a good idea." Devonte says again, but it seems that Darrick won't give up, before he will finally agree.

And I can see that Devonte knows this too, so I have no idea why he didn't agree yet.

Darrick and I spent a few minutes with Ashton and Rodney, but then their babysitter decided that the kids should go to their bedrooms to rest.

I'm sure that she was lying, because the kids looked like they just woke up from a nap not long ago.

And that's exactly what Ashton told her, although she said that he must have lost the track of time.

Darrick asked her if we could take the two kids with us for the day, but she didn't let us do that, and that's how we ended up here.

"Why not?" Darrick asks again, even though he already heard the answer about four times.

"Because I don't think that the both of you are responsible enough to take care of the kids alone." Devonte says, and it sees that Wren agrees, but he doesn't say anything.

"Why do you think that Lewis isn't responsible enough?" Darrick asks, and my eyes widen slightly, before I look at the ground.

I really hope that Devonte won't answer the question, because I'm pretty sure that he has a lot to say about this.

"Because most of the time he can't even reach the training grounds on time." Devonte says.

I let out a breath when I realise that he won't tell Darrick anything that he doesn't already know.

I really doubt that Darrick would be happy if he found out how many times I got in trouble before I met him.

I guess that it wouldn't be a very big deal for him, but I know that he will be angry about it now, because that's the reason why he can't get what he wants.

And I already know that an angry Darrick is the worse type of person.

Well, that's most likely not true, but he's pretty bad, and he knows how to get the revenge without getting himself in trouble.

"Tell the babysitter to let me take the kids." Darrick says sternly, and Devonte sighs tiredly.

Then he looks at Wren, who's sitting quietly on the other side of the room.

I guess that he's still surprised that Devonte lets Darrick talk to him like that.

Because from what I remember, Wren usually has a lot to say, although he's usually quiet when Devonte and Darrick are arguing, which happens a lot.

That's mostly because Darrick is still trying to get used to living in this pack, and it's a lot different than living with the rogues.

So, he's having trouble with understanding why some things have to be as they are, and that quickly starts the arguments.

"Just let him bring the kids here. I'm sure that our kids won't mind." Wren says, and Devonte sighs again, but then he nods.

"I will tell someone to bring those kids here." He says, before he leaves the living room, most likely to call one of the guards or something.
