Forgetting The Painful Effort

Chapter 34

Darrick's POV

When I walk inside of the pack house I quickly notice the three guys, the ones who I wanted to be friends with.

We didn't talk to each other after what happened, which was a few weeks ago.

So, I guess that I should just ignore them, and keep walking towards the kids' day room.

I want to see if Ashton and Rodney are already there, because I'm a bit bored, even though I had to learn for the last four hours.

"Darrick!" Someone says loudly, and I quickly turn around to see who was calling me.

It turns out that it's Gregor, and I'm not sure what I should do now.

I honestly expected them to hate me or something, but I can see that all three of them have friendly smiles, so I guess that they don't blame me for what happened.

In the rogue pack, something like this was a normal, and it happens often, but I know that people from here aren't used to this.

"Hi." I say when I reach them, and I look at them with a slight frown, not knowing what they want from me.

Maybe they just wanted to greet me, and they expected me to keep going after that.

"Do you want to hang out?" Are asks me, so I nod, even though I'm not sure if I actually want to do it.

"What do you want to do?" Thiago asks me.

"I'm not sure." I say.

"We should go to the teenagers' day room. There shouldn't be many people there for now." Are says, and the other two guys agree, so I do the same.

We go to the same room that we met at, and they quickly turn the TV on.

I expect some movie to star playing, but I can see that this is a game or something.

There are a few cars and Are quickly picks one, before he gives me the thing that he used to do it.

"This is a controller." Are says, and then he shows me how to use it.

It turns out that two people can play at once, so Are and I play first, and then we give the controllers to Thiago and Gregor, so they can play too.

About an hour later, there are a lot more teenagers here than before, so we leave the room.

We decide to stay near the pack house, and that's most likely because none for us want something to happen again.

They show me a few other driving games that we can play on the phone, and one of them allows all go us to play at once, so that's what we do until Lewis comes here.

He clears his throat when none of us notices him, and my eyes widen a bit when I see that he's standing right next to me.

"What are you doing here?" He asks me, and I can see that he's not very happy, but he's not angry either.

"I was bored again, so I came here, and they wanted to hang out with me, so I agreed." I say, and he nods slightly, before he looks at the three guys.

The look like they wish that they could run away from here, but neither of them does it.

"He won't do anything to you. He understands that neither of us had a choice." I say, and they relax slightly.
