Lewis' POV

I look at the guard again, but neither of us says anything for a few seconds, before he hits me in my ribs, and I can hear that at least one broke.

"Why did you do this?" I ask him with a glare.

"Because you deserved it. Didn't anyone tell you that you shouldn't touch girls without their permission?" He asks me.

I'm not sure if he's talking about the fact that I touched her shoulder, or if he thinks that I tried to force her to sleep with me, but I decide to not ask.

I know that Darrick is most likely watching us now, and he must be scared, so I try to go towards him, but the guard stops me.

"We're going to the pack house, so you can get scolded by the Alpha." He tells me.

"I'm sure that the Alpha's won't be happy if you will make me leave his favourite son in the middle of the woods." I say, hoping that he will let me go.

He rolls his eyes, and he looks at the other guard, before he gestures in the direction that Darrick is standing.

I can't see him from here, because my back is facing him, but I can feel that he's scared, and that he's still standing where I left him.

Thankfully, I know the other guard, because he's my friend's brother, and I'm sure that he won't do anything to hurt my mate.

The guard who holding me makes me walk toward the pack house, and Darrick follows us, before the other guards can even reach him.

"I will tell my father to make sure that you won't be a guard anymore." Darrick says to the guard who's holding me.

"I'm sure that he will listen to you." He says sarcastically, and I chuckle.

I guess that he doesn't know that Devonte would do almost everything for Darrick, so he will have to learn something today.

When we reach the pack house, I can see that Wren is standing near the front door.

He was talking with a few other guards, but he leaves them when he sees us.

"What happened?" Wren asks the guards.

"He tried to force one of the girls to mate with him." The guard who's holding me says.

Wren looks at me with a glare, but then he sees that Darrick is here, and his expression changes to a confused one.

"I'm sure that he wouldn't have done that, especially not if Darrick was there with him." Wren says, and the guard opens his mouth to argue, but Darrick starts to talk first.

"We were just walking through the woods, and the girl was running in our direction.

So, Lewis wanted to check on her, but then this guard saw him and he hit him in the ribs hardly." Darrick says very quickly.

I guess that he was scares that someone will interrupt him, or stop listening to him before he will be able to finish explaining.

"I will take them to my mate's office, and I expect you to be there in about half an hour." Wren says to both of the guards.

They nod, so I take Darrick's hand, before I follow Wren towards Devonte's office.

"I think that I have to go to the doctor first." I say, because my ribs start to hurt more with each step.

Wren looks at me for a few seconds, before he nods, and he starts to walk towards the pack hospital.
