Darrick's POV

I chuckle slightly when I hear that Lewis just walked inside of the house, and that's because he has no idea that Devonte is angry at him.

I have no idea what Devonte will say to him, but I'm sure that it will be funny for me.

In the last few weeks that I was living here, I already realises that angry Devonte is the funniest Devonte that I know.

But I'm pretty sure that I would say something else about it if Devonte started to get angry at me.

But I know that at least for now he's allowing me to do what I want, and I make sure to take advantage of it.

"You're in trouble." I say, right after Lewis comes here.

"Why?" He asks me.

"I'm not entirely sure, but someone called Devonte, and after he hang up, he told me that he will have to scold you for something." I say.

"I pretty sure that he's angry because I was late to the training again." He tells me, and I frown.

"He wasn't angry the last time." I say, and he shrugs.

"I'm pretty sure that Dior took the fault for me back then." Lewis explains.

I just shrug, and then I look at the stairs, because I can hear that Devonte is coming here.

"Where were you this morning?" Devonte asks Lewis.

"I left the house early, and I went straight to the training grounds." Lewis explains.

Now he looks like he's expecting Devonte to hurt him, or something.

But I'm pretty sure that that's how everyone has to act when Devonte isn't happy with them.

Or maybe the werewolf instincts make them to do this, because their Alpha isn't happy with them.

Lewis is looking at the ground with a pained expression on his face.

And both of his hands are behind his back, where he's playing with his fingers.

"Then why didn't you get to the training grounds on time?" Devonte ask him, while he walks to the couch.

Then he sits on the couch, and he gestures at the ground.

I'm a bit confused, because I have no idea what he wants Lewis to do, but I guess that Lewis already was in a situation like this before.

Because he walks a few feet away from me, before he gets to his knees in front of Devonte.

I want to say something, but I'm not even sure what I should say, so I stay quiet.

Devonte never told any of his kids to kneel in front of him, so this is new, and I think that it's a bit too serious for me to enjoy it now.

"I have no idea." Lewis says, and I can already tell that he's not lying.

"Explain." Devonte tells him.

"I'm not sure how to explain this. I usually walk out of the house a lot earlier than I should, and sometimes it just takes me a lot longer to get to the training grounds." Lewis says.

I look at Devonte to see if he believes him.

He looks a bit annoyed, but it seems that he's believing him.

"Get up, and go take a shower." Devonte says sternly.

Lewis stands up, and he looks at Devonte.

"Yes Alpha." He says, and then he walks out of the living room, not even bothering to look at me.

"I think that you were a bit too harsh." I say, but Devonte just shakes his head.

"Not even close to it." He says, and then he smiles slightly, so I roll my eyes.
