Lewis' POV

When I walk indie of the house I can see Wren, who looks like he's about to kill someone.

I just hope that he won't kill me.

"What's wrong?" I ask him curiously, and he gestures for me to follow him to the office, which is near the living room.

I sit on the chair that's in front of his desk, and he sits behind it, before he looks at me.

"Something happened to Darrick." He explains, and my eyes widen right away.

"Is he alright? Did someone hurt him?" I ask, and he looks at me for a long while, before he starts to explain.

"He went to the pack house to find some friends, and he managed to find a few.

So, he decided to hang out with them at the clearing." He says, and my mind quickly makes me come up with every possible thing that could have happened after that.

Maybe they just pretended that they liked him, and they took him to the clearing, so they could beat him up.

Or maybe they were attacked by rogues on their way there.

"His heat started." He tells me, and I look at him with a terrified expression.

I'm pretty sure that his heat ended not long again, which means that he shouldn't have one now.

But if what he's saying is the truth, then this most likely means that he mated with his friends.

I know the effect of the heat, because I was around one Omega who was in heat, not counting Darrick.

But thankfully one of the mated guards was able to get him away from everyone, before anything could happen.

"How many friends were with him?" I ask quietly.

"Three men." He says with a sad smile, which tells me that I'm right in assuming that they mate slept with each other.

"Where is Darrick?" I ask him after a moment of silence.

"He's upstairs." Wren tells me, so I nod, before I stand up to leave the office.

I walk upstairs right away, and I quickly find my mate, who's laying on the bed.

I'm not sure if he's asleep or not, so I sit on the bed, and I shake him a bit.

"Don't." He says.

"Did you know that you were going to get the heat?" I ask him, because I want to know if I should be angry at him for this, or not.

He opens his eyes, and he sits against the headboard.

"I didn't." He says.

He looks a bit upset, but it seems that what happened will make him cry, or anything.

I force myself to remember that he grew up with the rogues, and that he's an Omega, so something like what happened today used to be normal for him until recently.

"Are you alright?" I ask him, and he sighs tiredly.

"Well, I'm fine, but I was really hoping that I will find some friends, and they seemed to like me, but I really doubt that they will want to see me ever again." He says.

"I hope that they will come around, and if not, then I will help you find some new friends." I say, and he smiles at me gratefully.
