Forgetting The Painful Effort

Chapter 23

Darrick's POV

Lewis and I stayed at Dior's room for a few hours, but I started to get tired, so Lewis decided to walk me back to the house.

Although he will go back to spend some more time with his friend, because I convinced him to do that.

He wasn't sure if he should agree, but I told him that I will most likely just go to sleep right after I will get to my bedroom, and I guess that it made it easier for him to stay.

When I walk up the stairs, I can hear that someone is talking in one of the bedrooms, and I quickly realise that it's Tareek and Henry, who's Logan's mate.

I know that I should just keep walking because it's not nice to listen to people's conversation.

And I actually got a few punishments for something like this when I was with the rogues.

But I really can't make my feet move, because I want to know what they're talking about.

"He will be angry if you will do this, and I'm a bit scared that they will hurt you or something." Henry says

"Devonte and Wren would never hurt me." Tareek says.

"I still don't think that you should do that." Henry tells him.

"Well, I will try to do it anyway." Tareek says, and then there's a long silence.

I can hear that one of them just sat on the bed, and then Henry lets out a long sigh.

"And why do you want to do this?" Henry asks him with a tired voice.

"Because I already had fourteen kids, and I don't wish to have another one." Tareek says, and now he sounds angry, but he makes sure to talk quietly.

"I don't think that it's a good idea." Henry says sternly.

"Well, I didn't ask for your opinion." Tareek says.

"Then why did you ask me to come here?" Henry asks, and I can hear that he stood up again.

"I'm not even sure." Tareek says.

I guess that I should tell Devonte and Wren about it, before Tareek will do something stupid

I'm not entirely sure what they were talking about, but I guess that Tareek wants to make sure that he won't have any more kids.

And I'm pretty sure that Devonte and Wren won't be happy about it.

I turn around to walk downstairs, but when I do that, I can see that Devonte and Wren are standing behind me, along with Logan.

I take a step back, and this makes me fall to the ground, so I let out a loud groan, and it seems that Tareek and Henry heard me.

Wren helps me stand up, and then all for us look at the doorway, where Tareek and Henry are standing.

"How much did you hear?" Tareek asks.

"Logan, I want you to go for now. Take Henry and Darrick with you." Devonte says, and Logan gestures for his mate to follow him.

Then he puts his hand on my back, and he makes me walk downstairs.
