Darrick's POV

I don't really know what all of this is about, but one of the kids told me that it's my birthday today, and that we have to celebrate it.

"Devonte, you really don't have to do anything for me." I say.

He just gives me a slight glare, while Wren looks over his shoulder to see me from the corridor, where he's talking with one of the kids.

"We already told you that you should call us Papa, Dad and Tata." Wren says, and I roll my eyes.

They already told me about this a lot of times, but I really don't want to call them like that.

I just don't think that I should do it, because I don't really feel like a part of this family yet.

I know that I'm Devonte and Tareek's son, but I don't even remember the names of most of my siblings.

So, I guess that I should concentrate on remembering their names, instead of remembering that I shouldn't say my fatherd names.

"I don't want a party." I say again, and Wren sighs, while Devonte decides to ignore me.

"Wren wanted to make a big party in the pack house, so he could invite everyone, but I managed to stop him from doing that.

So, be grateful about it, and stop complaining about this small family party." Devonte tells me, before Wren could say anything.

"Thanks." I say sarcastically.

Devonte doesn't seem to like the tone of my voice, but he decides to ignore it.

I'm pretty sure that if I was any of his other kids, then he would already have a belt in his hands, ready to spank me.

But I know that he wouldn't do that to me, so I usually like to annoy him a bit to see his frustrated expression, because it's pretty funny.

"Can we at least invite Lewis?" I ask.

"We can't invite him to the party, because it's just for our family, but I can ask him if he wants to hang out with you in the evening." Devonte says, and I sigh tiredly, but I decide to nod anyway.

I stay quiet for a long while, because I have nothing else to say.

A while later, my eyes widen a bit when I start to smell a very nice scent, and I wonder if that's the scent of some food that Tareek is making for us.

If that's the case, then I definitely won't mind this party, because I don't think that I ever smelt anything that smelled this nice.

I stand up, and I decide to check what he's making, but I quickly realise that the scents is coming from outside.

I open the front door, and I almost get hit by Lewisx because it seems that he was trying to knock on the door, right before I open it.

He takes his hand back, and he looks like he's about to apologise, but then he looks at me, and his eyes widen.
