Darrick's POV

Lewis had to stay in the pack hospital for about two days, because he wasn't feeling well.

I wanted to stay with him there, but the doctor didn't allow me to stay at night, so I had to leave Lewis there for a few hours.

I'm pretty sure that he didn't mind it as much as I did, but I'm very grateful that he's finally able to go back to my parents' house.

When we reach it, I want to open the door, but Lewis stops me, so I looks at him with a curious expression.

He gestures for me to not talk, and then he puts his ear near the door.

I really want to ask him what he's hearing, but I force myself to stay quiet.

After a few minutes, Lewis takes my hand, and he starts to lead me away from the house.

When we're a few feet away, I want to ask him about it, but he quickly stops me by placing his hand over my mouth.

He does it very quickly, which scares me a bit, and it make me lose my balance.

He tries to catch me, but somehow the both of us end up on laying on the ground.

I chuckle slightly, and he rolls his eyes before he sighs tiredly.

"What at you doing here?" Wren asks us.

He looks annoyed, but I'm not sure if that's because of what was going on in the house, or if that's because we're here.

"We were on our way to the house, but Darrick lost this balance, and I tried to catch him, but I didn't manage to do that." Lewis explains.

"Wren nods slightly, although he looks very stiff, and I can see that he doesn't want to talk with us anymore.

"Are you alright?" I ask him right after I sit up.

Lewis stands up, and he helps me do the same, before the both of us look at Wren, waiting on his response.

"I'm fine, I just had a very unpleasant conversation with Tareek." He explains.

We decide to not ask him about it.

He lets us walk inside of the house, and we go straight to my bedroom.

I lock the door behind us, before I look at my mate for explanation.

He gestures for me to sit next to him, before he leans a bit to whisper into my ear.

"Tareek was trying to convince Wren to help him get rid of his womb, and I think that Wren agreed." Lewis tells me.

My eyes widen, and I wonder if I should tell Devonte about this, or not.

"Do you think that we should tell Devonte?" I ask him quietly, and he shrugs.

"I think that we should let Tareek and Wren do what they want, but I wish that I didn't hear anything.

Because if Devonte will find out that we know about this, then we might be in trouble." Lewis explains.

"I think that we should tell him." I say, and he sighs tiredly.
