Chapter 34 : flame's of horror

Nova's P.O.V

Erica stood over me as we where surrounded by the leafeon's I could feel my heart beat in my chest. So much was happening, so many questions to be asked but yet, so much fear. None of us are safe, I felt my breath thicken as I look up to see. Cora with two large Charizards flying above her. Even from where I stood I could feel the wind from the heavy weight of their wings. The tree bristled to the beat. 'If Cora is here.... Quinn is in trouble regardless of what happens.'

Gavin turns his head to glare at the one eye jolteon. Both blinded in one eye but yet stood on opposite sides. I could see the furry in his golden brown eye. "You!.... You dare to return!" He hissed the rest of the tribe seem to be more focused on her now. "Nova... we have to leave." I hear Erica whispering in my ear. I flinched. I could hear the fear, the shake in her voice. Erica was now trembling. It took my by surprise since she was full of rage and fury when she burst into the clearing but no doubt. 'She's scared of Cora'

But even hearing her warning and the nudge of her paw I stayed frozen. We where still surrounded but could easily break the wall of leafeon's.
I then see the look of the jolteon. A look of excitement. Her lips pulled back in a smirk, but it wasn't a normal one. Her eye twisted and she seemed to struggle with holding her smile. It looked painful. "Can i admit something to you Gavin?" Cora spoke with ice in every spoken word. Gavin growled in response. I had to admit she had me curious as well. Everyone was on edge, Cora absolutely knows how to grab mons attention. "You know why I let you live... you know I was kind to you, after all your tribe has done.... Nothing but awful unforgivable things." She paused as she scanned the scenery before looking back at Garvin. I could feel Erica behind me also stiffen and glance up at her. She clearly was wanting to know as well. She then continued in a dark tone. Her teeth scrape together. "I wanted you to live... knowing you only live because I let you... your punishment was to feel what I feel.... That empty feeling of losing someone you care about! To long for the revenge you'll never get!" She took a few steps closer. The big Charizard's however didn't make a move. Gavin looked furious though his claws digging a hole beneath him. But I could see it clearly now. How could I miss it. Cora had tears in her purple eye. The look was a look of trams. Something was bothering the jolteon. Her face twisted as she held this fake smirk as if to hold power over the leafeon. As if yo hide the hurt. "But now..." she continue to speak shaking her head. "I have to end your miserable life.... I do not approve of guys like you! Forcing a young girl to be your mate!" She said it with a laugh but not a steady one. 'Is she... she's having a breakdown.'

"I.. I've never seen her like this." I hear Erica mumble. I break my gaze at Cora to see Erica. Her face was pal with dread. "Nova.. please we have to go" the I hear Gavin hiss to Cora. "It's not your place to worry about Nova! But I have to disagree with you! I will get recon you!" He turned his eye to me. I felt uneasy has his attention shifted to me, no wait not me. I felt my heart drop to my stomach. His cold eye locked on Erica. 'No!' Then he made a made dash to Erica but before I can react a loud explosion is heard and the impact was incredible. It knocked not just me but Gavin Erica almost everyone in the clearing off their paws. I hit my head on the ground and the pain was pounding as my ears start to ring. Everything was black as I found it hard, so hard to recover from the hit. My nose wrinkled to the familiar smell of smoke. 'Oh no, no not again!'
I open my eyes only to see the red flame and black smoke raising above the trees. I slowly try to lift myself up but the pain in my legs, in my head was to great. I let myself claps back down. No I need to get up. I could see the rushing paws of leafeon's running. And I could see a shadow flying around but I couldn't really make anything out. "Eri..ca?" I try to speak but it was hard to. Where is she? Did she run off again? Or perhaps she's in the same state as me, or worse. This thought scared me, I could feel the ground around me really starting to heat up as the flames seemed to get closer to me.
