Info - love making, bringing someone back from the dead, AU Timeline, mention of self harm/ED/family trouble
He was kissing me, really and truly kissing me. I felt myself smile happily. It was such perfection to have him like this. We were so, so weak, but we made it happen.
"I love you," I gasped into his mouth.
"I fucking love you," he said and rolled his body against mine. Every second was beautiful. I felt like I was in heaven as he kissed my neck.
He was feeling my body, feeling my soul. He had his hands all over me. He loved me! He really did! Regardless of my faults and missteps, he loved me.
"Reg," I breathed.
"Say it again," he said.
"Reg, I'm yours," I told him. I wrapped my legs around him. He played with my robes.
"Do it, take me," I said.
"You sure? I've been so unkind."
"Regulus, I brought you back from the dead without your consent. I think we're equal," I said seriously. He laughed and kissed me. It felt so real and wonderful. I was living a dream and every inch of my skin was breathing it in so that I felt like crying.
His hard length slowly pushed inside me. I gasped and clawed at his pale back. We both still have a sheen of sweat on our skin, but nothing has ever felt so luxurious. The feeling of my true love sheathing himself inside me was all consuming.
"It feels-"
"I know," I nodded.
He pressed his forehead to mine. His bottom lip quivered as he thrust for the first time. It wasn't the first time really, for either of us, or even us as a couple. However, it felt so new and surreal.
"I can't believe I've got the smartest girlfriend in the world," he crowed and real tears lined his eyes.
The word hit me like a gut punch. I sucked in a deep breath. I didn't know that's what I was now. A girlfriend, I was someone's girlfriend. I always thought it would be enough to be someone's, but being HIS was more than enough. It was everything.
"I can't believe my boyfriend helped defeat the Dark Lord," I choked out.
He was smiling so large his face was at risk of breaking. It was a good look on him. He was still shaky from our fight against evil, but his thrusts were steady. He kissed my scarred wrists before clasping them and lifting them above our heads.
Our bodies were undulating together. Our hips arched toward one another. Each of our cores were heating and melting and near the precipice it complete explosion.
"I love you," he whispered in my ear. We were the only ones who existed in the moment. I breathed out my soul and let him swallow it. He let me do the same. We were sharing the same life force now. We were bound through time, sickness, and even death. We were meant to be with one another.
"I feel better now than I ever did.... Before," he murmured against the shell of my ear. I shuddered.
He was here. I could feel every smooth expanse of skin, every movement of his muscles, every pore and hair. He was alive. He was my lover.
"Be mine forever," I begged. I expected a no. My brain was hard wired to expect it at this point.
"Always," he responded gently.
I cried as we climaxed together. Both of us were panting and letting out long breathes. Our hearts hammered and I could feel his soul swirling inside me. I knew he could feel mine inside him. We weren't two separate people now. We were fully immeshed and inseparable.
We got dressed slowly, kisses shared and long caresses given lavishly. I had never expected to have this. I'd thought of myself as a mad scientist almost when this journey had begun. Now, I was here and I was happy.
We walked down the stairs hand in hand. The Weasleys, Blacks, and Potters, were all gathered together. The warm chatter stopped when they saw us.
The silence yawned before us. It felt like a whole canyon stretched between us and the family before us.
Regulus was an outlier because he'd been dead. Even before his death he'd been a loner. He'd been a Slytherin. He had pretended to be a Death Eater so he could do what needed to be done. His only friend in life had been an old house elf.
I was an outlier because I wasn't family. I wasn't a Black, a Lupin, a Weasley, a Granger, a Potter, or even a Malfoy. I was the oddball who had raised the dead. I was the obsessive freak to starved herself, cut her own skin, and didn't fit in with her family, let alone anyone else.
"Regulus!" Sirius rasped and the gap closed in a wink.
It was like an unexpected roar of a lion. It was frightening, but the way it vibrated our hearts was unmatched. They all advanced on us.
We were wrapped in warm hugs. Tears were pouring from nearly every eye. Sirius was clinging to his little brother and thanking me over and over again. Rose was blabbering at a million miles per hour about how worried she'd been and how amazing I was.
I couldn't believe I was included in everything. I wasn't shunned for one moment. I was added in and accepted just like I'd always wanted to be. I was folded into this group I'd always stood on the fringes of, and I was welcomed with open arms.
"Come now," said the creaky old voice of Ms. Weasley. She had been sobbing harder than anyone, but now spoke like we were the over emotional ones.
"Supper is hot and I'm sure those two need nutrients," she smiled.
Many of us agreed and began to move to the magically elongated table. Sirius wasn't letting go of Regulus, but in the same way, Regulus wasn't letting go of me.
"I want you to meet someone," Sirius said softly to his little brother.
It was like the Red Sea parted. The many relatives moved aside. A man with crows feet, black, messy hair, and round glasses was smiling at us.
"This is Harry, my Godson, he is the reason we know what you did. He told us all," Sirius said.
Regulus left me and his brother behind. He walked slowly up to Harry as if he were approaching a deity. I noticed his legs were shaking.
"I always thought it'd be cool to meet you mate," Harry said cheerily.
"Thank you," Regulus gasped out. Harry looked confused and scratched the jagged scar on his forehead.
"You're the one who did the heroics, I just let people know," Harry said. I saw him make a movement, almost like he wanted to ruffle my boyfriend's hair, but he stopped himself.
"B-but, if you hadn't told everyone, she would never know to come for me," Regulus said in a trembling voice. I realised he was talking about me. I felt my heart grow as my eyes filled with tears.
Regulus wrapped his arms around Harry in thanks. Sirius was smiling so broadly I wondered if his face would break. Ron and Hermione were holding one another and beaming. The whole space was warm and happy and homey.
"Come on Reggie, I've got to catch you up on everything over dinner," Sirius said excitedly and broke the silence.
Sirius was rambling quickly and moving his hands as he spoke. Remus was adding in missing pieces here and there to help Reg understand. Teddy was shaking his head at his fathers but smiling broadly.
"I'd do it again by the way," I whispered to him as we sat at the large table.
"Do what Mon amour?" He asked and intertwined our fingers again.
"I'd search the depths."
