Info - abusive parents, pining Regulus, mean siblings

I looked at my brother and sister. Both of them had glorious sheets of thick blonde hair. I'd inherited thin hair of course. All the traits of our parents that were positive, Lucius and Bisera had inherited. Every negative trait, I had gotten. This was so true that people were shocked when I told them I was their younger sibling. I hated them. They had left me, and our father had taken out of his anger and humiliation on me.

I was forced to get perfect grades, I waited on them hand and foot when I was home, I was screamed at and abused and everything was taken out on me.

I'd become more of a statue than a human. I had to become cold and careless about others. People hated my gloating about grades, but it's all I had.

"Hey there lap dog," Bisera called out to me, she must've seen me glaring.

"Don't call me that," I snarled.

"But that's what you are, mum and dad's little lap dog, do whatever they say don't you?" She cackled. I'd always hated her laugh.

"YOU BITCH!" I screamed. I pointed my wand at her, and shouted Expelliarmas.

"Because you two left, I am treated like a slave! They burn me and hit me and scream at me! I refuse to be called a lap dog when all I'm trying to do is survive!" I was shouting and a crowd had gathered.

"Don't reach for your wand Lucius! You know I'm better at magic than the two of you combined," I snapped. I stalked off.

To my surprise, someone had followed me. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I cried.

"I know EXACTLY how you feel," said Regulus Black. I was surprised, and then I remembered that his brother who had graduated last year had left him alone with his terrible parents.

"Can I hug you?" He asked. We'd known each other our whole lives as all the children of pure blood seemed to. He'd even asked me out once but I'd declined, thinking he was like his parents. Clearly, he wasn't.

"Sure," I allowed. He took me into his arms. He smelled wonderful, and he was surprisingly warm and soft. I liked being in his arms.

"Thank you Regulus," I sniffed.

As the days went on, Regulus and I hung out more and more. I started feeling like I really liked him. He was sweet and smart and understood me so well.

"Regulus, you asked me out once, do you remember?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I was so embarrassed when you said no, Sirius mocked me for weeks," he said, red patches growing on his cheeks.

"Well, I made a mistake. I won't blame you if you say no, but would you want to go out with me?" I asked.

"Hell yeah, I've had a crush on you for ages," he said. I leaned forward and kissed him gently. He was eager and took my face in his hands. I smiled.

"Wow, that was better than I even imagined," he said with sparkling eyes.
