After Drying off a bit in the girl's lavatory, me and Hermoine decided to settle down on the benches that were set up in the Hall with some of our friends. Actually, they belonged more to Hermione than to me - while Ron and Harry mingled by the goblet with the others. We watched as some of the older students threw their names in the goblet while being cheered on by their friends.
"People have gotten splinched in this tournament! More than once!" I add to our long-running conversation about the dangers of the tournament.
"Splinched?" Dean Thomas inquired turning to look at Seamus, his eyes wide. Hermoine shook her head, flipping through the book she was currently reading.
"Dunno, but it doesn't sound good," Seamus spoke through his thick accent.
"Well, let's just say it's worse than bad. One of the worst things you can experience." Hermoine adds in before being interrupted by Cedric and his group of friends. They enter the room in a very lively manner, thoroughly soaked by the rain.
"Come on Cedric!"
"Put it in!"
Cheery voices echoed through the room as Cedric was shoved over to the goblet, a big grin present on his face as he put his name in it. Everyone clapped, but me and Hermoine just shook our heads in disappointment.
"Not impressed Vinny?" Cedric asked as he walked up to me, still smiling like a fool.
"You could say so. Do you know how dangerous that game is Ced? Crazy dangerous, that's how dangerous it is! If you end up making it into the tournament, you'll be thinking about how much you regret not listening to me when your seconds away from being splinched...or seconds away from meeting death herself!" I scold, my arms crossed.
"I seriously doubt that V...but~ I will be thinking of you when I grab that trophy." Cedric replied with a wink as he followed his friends out back into the rain.
"Ooh~ V, he'll be thinking about you~" Hermoine teased.
"What that bloody idiot will be doing is not thinking 'Moine." I scoff, rolling my eyes.
"So, this is where you ran off to, McMillan." Someone suddenly spoke from right next to me, causing me to jump out of fright. It was easy to startle me, that's a fact nearly everyone knows. I suddenly turn to see myself face to face with the one and only Theodore Nott, presumably on a mission to pester me to no end. How endearing.
"Merlin, you scared me you git!" I shouted at him.
"Nice to see you too. I can't believe you ditched me for mud-blood over there, though." He scoffed. Hermoine's jaw dropped, and I smacked his shoulder harshly.
"What was that for??"
"For being such a prick! Apologize!" I demand, glaring at him.
"Fine, but only because I'm in a good mood right now. Hermoine, I'm deeply sorry for calling you a mud-blood, please forgive me."
