Mayra

The heat waves ran through the whole of me as I tried to adjust my view. I was packed tight in my blanket with neither fan nor AC.

I shimmied out of the blanket then the bed, all soaked in my own sweat. The sudden urge to dive in a iced pool overcomes me as I run for the bathroom.

I looked dizzy at most. What happened last night!?

I mentally pressured to remember all the bits and pieces of my memory last night, I'm damn sure I had one glass of wine.. but why?? I literally have no tolerance. AND there was Aarav again, I already have a poor past record with alcohol. I shouldn't have drank with him so close in my vicinity.

The brain does little help remembering but what I recall are swift glimpses of past night

"What's with you and ghosts?"
"Enjoy while you can"
"You're just like a bunny"
"I'm not grinding!"
"I wanted to tell you something for a while now"

His face was the last memory I could conjure out of my mind, what was that he wanted to tell me? did he tell me? have I forgotten? no it can't be.

Nevermind I'll deal with this later, I overslept today what if mumma starts to doubt me. I run for my closet as fast as humanly possible and filter out some clothes.

I fish out a white kurti with a plazo, and then some oxidized jewelry to top it with. I was about to shut my drawer when a piece of silver flashes in my view. I remove the anklet, its mesmerizing bells hung impressively around a thick chain of silver.

Mayra's Outfit-

Its aching to not be able to wear such a beautiful piece but my luck has always been bad, I should get used to it by now

I placed the anklet back in the drawer before leaving my room. As soon as I crossed the corridor and looked upon the hall from the mezzanine, the butler and the servants were running around. Iti and mumma were busy in their conversation, dadi and Suvy maa were discussing something.
