Mayra
I thanked whatever god was looking after me right now that I didn't need to spend another awkward minutes with Aarav. As soon as we arrived our destination which surprisingly turned out to be a bowling arena, Adi and Moksha reached minutes later. They brought extra company.
I haven't made any conversations with Navya but Rudransh seemed to be a nice guy.
The guards did not stop us at the entrance as if they recognized Aarav closely. Moksha immediately left their side to follow me up to the restroom I excused myself to.
"I heard what happened back in the house from Navya" she claims. An ounce of pity laced in her tone. "Bua just has her twisted way of telling things don't mind" I technically paid close to no attention to her words.
To be honest she seemed just like my bua.. having ugliest obsession towards passing judgement to whoever they wish as if the world revolves around them.
"She's an elder I'm sure Iti didn't take that on her" and I truly hope that.. even though I firmly believe she's way better than me in terms beauty as well as brain.
"And I didn't wanted to bring that duo with us. Adi even gone so far to complain mama about it but I shut him off as Bua would make that a point" I washed my hand all the while she was talking and then we left the restroom.
Just as we entered the booth where the rest have been settled. I found a new face among them. Curled locs falling over his forehead. He kinda had a cute boyish grin.
Their attention snagged on us as we neared the table and the curled head boy's stare almost instantly fell on Moksha. She didn't seem to notice that.
I took the nearest seat followed by Moksha when someone calls us "Why did you leave me Muku" Navya complained or rather it felt she faked her complain as she nearly appeared to be half sitting over the curl head.
"You have your company. Enjoy that" she sassily shut her off and the referred person eyes Moksha with interest "Hey muku" he tries to start a conversation with her.
My eyes slide from them to the boys in the bowling alley, fighting, laughing, rolling.
"Mayra.. meet Reyan. Reyan meet Mayra" after their personal convo ends she introduces me "Hey. Nice to meet you" he pulls a bright smile as if to relay he too feels the same.
In the meantime, the boys joined us Adi slid beside Reyan and Aarav slid in after him whereas Rudransh falls next to me. "What are you talking about?" Adi's doey pair of eyes bounces from me to Moksha to finally Reyan.
Since evening the two sibling duo arrived no one actually regarded them with warmth.
"Just random" Navya voices while picking a slice of pizza we ordered minutes before "I was introducing myself to Mayra. I'm glad I finally got to meet the first girl Aarav has ever talked about" my cheeks reddened on its own.
I find him clearing the lump in his throat and giving glares to the person who just exposed him. I am confident he must have talked about how alien I look to him or how murderous he becomes around me.
"Seems to appear progress to me" Adi cracks and the rest of them fall into a laughter.
"Mayra do you bowl?" Rudransh turns to me with hope but "I never played before" he pulls a big smile before patting my arm to stand up "I can teach you" I hear two snorts but couldn't differ who it belonged to. I followed him till the line where the alley begins.
Rudransh passes me a ball and takes one for himself. He explains me showing the three holes at its face. "Shove two of your fingers here and your thumb here" he stretches his arm behind at a good angle "Now you push the ball with strength to make it to the end and clear all the pin balls" I nod at his explanation.
He attempts to throw the ball and as it leaves him after one roll it slipped into the side lane and the whole group burst into a pit of laughter at his failure. I too bit my lip to suppress mine.
My eyes unwillingly found Aarav's and he was already looking at me with a smug look "Do you think you're better?" I glanced between him and Rudransh as the later tries to start an argument.
"I don't have to say that" he simply answers and I flinch when Rudransh intentionally throws the ball at him with full force "Then show her how it's done" Aarav manages to catch the ball at the right time.
"Why do you guys have to argue every single time" Mosksha complains with a sigh and I stay there quite.
"I will show her if she wants me to" my gaze turned to Aarav as he speaks to me. I inhaled not being able to take in all that intensity at once.
I move to place the ball at its place "I don't want to play" from the corner I could notice him squaring his glares on me "As expected of you" he comments but I immediately twirl around to meet his eyes.
"What do you mean" he huffs appearing irritated "Quitter. Is what I mean" my heart raged ..my fingers truly filled with the urge to bind them around his throat.. I want to crush that bump there and scratch those sharp jawlines. Who has that sharp of a jaw. It's Unfair.
"Teach me how to.." the corner of his mouth lifts and I exhale with frustration. There I go again. Somewhere in near future I'm going to be doomed by my feminine ego.
He gets up while rolling the sleeves and for convenience I removed my dupatta handing it over to Moksha.
He passes by an annoyed Rudransh and stands in front of me.. his finger trails the hole in the ball as he takes it from me.
All the while I couldn't keep my eyes from him, instead of going solo he rounds behind me and looks down from my shoulder.
"Hook your fingers" his tone laced with command. Our position seemed too intimidate but I couldn't complain being too lost chanting words in my head.. completely avoiding any touch as if he's a burning lava.
"I swear I won't touch you" he whispers into my ear and all the heat prickles into my face. I can feel the jerk smirking behind me.
I hooked my fingers into the hole and stretched my hand behind just like what Rudransh did earlier. I heard a click of tongue from behind.
I feel the weight of his hand on the ball as he reduces the angle of my hand and sets it aligned "Throw" he mumbles slowly letting me focus and as I released the ball. I squealed my eyes shut not wanting see the view of embarrassment when it would roll into the lane.
"Not bad, bunny" as his voice ranged in my ears I squeezed open one eye and to my surprise eight out of ten pin balls were down.
