Mayra
I plant a soft knock on the washroom's door "Muku? Are you okay?" a grumbling sound echoes from the inside and then she emerges out from the door.
"This headache" she rubs her temples while lazily pulling herself on the bed. I walk past her and pass her the glass of leamonade.
I was wide awake by the time she returned from the party at four past in the morning and I was thankful to God for not leaving me alone with my traitorous dirty thoughts.
I passed her a pill and some water too for her headache. "Now my brain is breathing" she fans her face with a playful smile. I like how she's always cheerful despite any inconvenience.
"I'll go check on Adi. I doubt he actually reached his suite before collapsing" I mentally shake my head. The duo with their drinking issues.
"Typical Adi" I say out loud and she grins "Come with me" she waves at me from the door.
With swift steps I catch up to her and silently pray for not stumbling upon Aarav. She knocks the door that had a number plate of 707. I can hear brief shuffling on the other side of the door before it opens "Morning again" that sleepy voice belonged to Reyan.
He didn't seem to notice me as he was all focused on the green head beside me "Morning Rey. Where's Adi?" she pushes past him and looks around the room.
That's when Reyan actually notices me standing at his doorstep "Hey Mayra" he pulls a wicked smile one full of mischief. I roll my eyes at him with my own smile slowly forming. "You noticed. A wonder" he bites his lips to stop himself from grinning.
"I know right" and then he was turning towards Moksha again. I could hear her hissing inside and when she reemerged from his washroom "He's not here. Please don't tell me he actually slept at the beach?" we both look at him for the answer when he starts rubbing his eyes.
"I came with you Muku. How would I know. And he never showed up in our suite" he searches for his phone and appears to dial a number. He puts it on speaker.
The ring dies and Adi did not pick up even after three more tries. "Maybe he's with Aarav" he suggests and Moksha leads the way to his suite.
Well, I don't think I'll be able to face him any sooner after what happened last night. It's too much for me to process.
I was busting myself with useless thoughts when his door opens and my gaze almost immediately falls on those perfectly sculpted abs. He's not wearing a t-shirt and is only in his joggers.
His hairs are totally ruffled as if he just left the bed after a long night of......
"Where's Adi?" Muku questions side stepping him to enter his suite. Instead of answering the question his attention sags on me. And he shares me a secretive look with that teasing smile.
"Why would he be here?" he throws back at his sister but Reyan interjects in between "He's nowhere" finally Aarav's sinister gaze leaves mine to follow his "Maybe he's with Sharan" he suggests.
"Sharan left right after you left the party" Reyan voices while his attention is completely on his phone "And it would be impossible for Adi to be found near Rudransh" Aarav adds after Reyan.
"This troublemaker" Moksha clicks her tongue as she walks away towards the elevators. And I and Reyan follow her. Aarav briefly leaves to fetch himself a t-shirt.
When we're on the ground level Moksha and Reyan heads to question the receptionist for her brother's whereabouts.
"I hope you had a good night" the words felt against my skin as he lowered himself and spoke directly into my ears.
"I'm sure you had yours" I say nonchalantly earning a chuckle from him. "I smell something burning?" he acts to sniff around me.
I give a little shove at his chest "Certainly. Your ego" I speak as he backs away with a surprise look "Woah Ms. Prim and Proper is in the mood" he ruffles my hair that annoys me to the bone.
I grab his giant hand which apparently feel giant against my little ones and jerk away from me but he gives a squeeze to my fingers. Not hard but enough to remind me if he wanted he'd crush them in seconds.
In the moment Moksha and Reyan walks back with a dull expression. I twist and fight his hold but he's in no mood to leave me. And I seriously don't want Moksha to see our hands interlocked.
I throw one last glare at him before stepping closer to him not enough for our body to touch but close enough for his heat and wooden scent to fill me. our hands are hidden behind my back.
"He didn't come back last night" was all she said before her hands snake in her hairs in frustration "Don't worry muku he's Adi" the one beside me assures her.
And that's when I noticed how calm he is about this entire situation. It feels as if it's normal for Adi to not show up most of the times.
No one speaks for half a minute and the silence was starting to grow heavier.
Before I attempted to break it a notification sounds three times and all others except me check up their texts.
"It's Adi" the curl head says and as I only have access to Aarav's screen in this crucial position I peek at his screen.
It's a group that includes all of them. I glance in the chat box.
Adi: Bitches up for picnic?
Muku: I'm going to kill you at first sight🔪
Aarav: Don't tell me you sailed on more than one ship last night.
Adi: Why kill me baby sister. That's so rude of you.
Adi: Not even one ship💦
Rey: She's biting my head off. COME BACK.
Adi: Come outside.
Akki: What's all this? Adi Bhai you're on a different island??
Rey: Just watch pogo little one.
Sharan: I agree with Reyan for the first time. The conversation ends and I can't seem to repress the heat flaming my cheeks. Moksha and Reyan have already left for the lobby exit while I was stuck with Aarav.
"You seriously get so worked over mentioning sex" there he said it. And now I was literally blooming into a made in tomato.
"Why'd you say that out loud!" I smack his chest and wriggle my hands to free them "Because I love your reactions" his smile grew wider as his hand resign their hold.
I slowly and dreadfully follow him outside to find three safari jeeps. Adi is standing on one of those and as he notices us he pushes his sun glares down "Hey babe. Let's go for a long ride" he jumps and lands right in front of me.
He passes me a mischief smile before it morphs into a teasing one when he turns to Aarav "Oh hi there" he pats his shoulder but Aarav shrugs him away with so much hatred. They are so much better together as brothers but sometimes I don't understand what comes over them.
"I-I ll go get changed" I leave their side and run back to the elevators.
