Mayra
I woke up to a smell of enticing cologne and empty sheets, one glance at the clock and I knew I was late. It's already seven in the morning. When did he leave? and how did I not feel him moving.
The sheets and the pillow still clung his essence and even I smelled more like him than me. I got up heading for the washroom. With my daily routine it consumed my twenty minutes at best and when I emerged out flipping my wet hairs to dry them off. I decided to wear normal co-ord set because that'll be comfy for the travel.
I was looking through my vanity when I noticed the pair of my moon star earrings I wore last night, only one of them was at the table and when my gaze stretched to the mirror it held a sticky note 'I'll keep it safe' and that was that. What does he want to do with an earring? typical Aarav.
I was almost done packing my handbag when my door bursts open and a figure comes throwing themselves at me "Mayra!! see I came back rushing for youh" Moksha squeezes me in a tight hug "You should have stayed with your nani" I asserted earning a smack on my shoulder.
"My nani doesn't live far away you do" she pouts slinging her arms in mine "Don't worry muku I'll be back even before you realize I was gone" I say to reassure her.
"Let's go or you'll be late" I nodded clutching my backpack as we left the room, for a week I won't be in this house.. with Iti, with muku... with Aarav.
With a long sigh we descent the stairs making to the hallway, one by one I greeted everyone before leaving.
Iti holds me in a hug for longer than others and I realized I'm going back to our home and she can't with me like before. At the porch when I saw Adi waiting for us on the driver's seat alone my gaze instantly shifted to the empty spot where a McLaren used to be parked.
Aarav was nowhere.
I resisted the urge to ask about him to anyone as we made to enter the car. For once I looked back to the balcony next to mine. The door was closed. Bye Aarav.
I wanted to see him for the last time but maybe it's better I didn't see him or I could've done something stupid.
Adi parks at the airport's lot and we hop out altogether. I was already ten minutes late and I'll have to check in alone so I turned to greet them for one last time.
"Don't miss me too much gurl" Adi ruffles my hairs and I laugh despite my insides screaming to wait for him. "I won't" I say in between laugh and then hugged Moksha "Call me when you land" I nodded and sucked a long breath.
I twirled clutching my backpack and left, not glancing back for once.
The flight took off soon and I plugged in my music to dull my thoughts.
I landed exactly after two hours, finding my dad at the waiting area I jumped right into his arms. "Welcome back my baby" he pats my head and then he releases me. "Thanks dad. I missed you guys alot" he laughs stroking my hairs "Come, your mumma made your favorite food" on the ride back home we talked about Iti than her in-laws and then most random things.
I was grateful he kept me out of my mind which recklessly went back to those same cold brown eyes.
Reaching home, the first thing I checked was my phone for any messages. I got two one from Iti and the other from Moksha.
"Mayraa" I jerked when dadi pulls me in a hug and I stretched my arms around her Missed you lot dadi" inhaling that incense on her brings back the feeling of being home.
Mumma emerges out of the kitchen "My baby" she palms my cheeks adorning me and now I feel much better. "Go get changed you must be hungry" I nodded walking towards the stairs.
A quick shower and your favorite meal can make your day.
After dinner I went to spend my time with dadi in her room, she answered at first knock. "Hey come here" I made to sit next to her on the bed. I noticed many albums scattered all over the sheet.
"What are you doing dadi?" she smiles and then shows me a picture of her in her early twenties with dad in her arms. "Woah so cutee" I took the album turning pages after pages. More pictures of her with dadu and my great grandparents all in black and white.
"See this is you and your sister" I peeked at the photo she referred and I gasped at how chubby I was and also in boy cut hairs.
"Is this really me?" she nods laughing off and I brought my phone out to capture the photo.. we browsed all the albums in just one hour laughing and giggling at each other.
I was back to my room before twelve in the night and started briefing through the photos I clicked finally deciding a cutesy picture of me at five with a bouquet of roses in my hands.
I posted the photo on my Ig and my eyes bulged out at a red ring around a profile. Aarav posted a story, I bit my lips so hard contemplating whether I should open or not. Well, just open it.
I was hoping anything anything but not this. What in the hell. Aarav appeared fresh out of shower because his front was adorned with water droplets and his pelvis draped in a towel.
And THAT was not all, he made a pendant out of my stolen earring, the star one. The chain dangled from his mouth as he bit the diamond crusted star. Something happened down there and a sudden need to squeeze my leg hard overcame me.
I read the story caption and it said 'Wild Cravings'.
As if the devil got the hint of me thinking about him a text pops up on my screen, I opened shortly after.
Aarav: Missing me?
Me: Of course not.
Aarav: Not the answer I wanted.I did not replied but then the three dots reappeared.
Aarav: You were such a meal back then. I feel like biting those cheeks.
He replies referring to my story and my jaw dropped to the floor.
Me: Aarav! have some shame I was a kid.
Aarav: Be thankful I didn't say that to your five year old version.;)Ahh, why is he like that.
I did not reply after wards and shut the phone off sliding under the blanket. I'm still mad at him for not showing up.
//My schedule became messed up due to festive season. But don't worry sweetheart because I'll post frequently and will try to post as many as possible in minimum time//
