When it gets to the verge where you don't feel connections with anyone, the feeling of giving everything up eats you.

Aarav
I watch as Mayra hastily makes her away towards the switch turning on all the lights. "Oh my Aarav" dadi comes by my side palming both my cheeks.
"It's been so long" she passes a smile to Mayra and she pointedly ignores her leaving for the kitchen. "How's you dadi" I walk with her to the nearest couch and cautiously sit avoiding dripping on the sofa.
"I'm so great since my grand daughter returned" she claps her hands with a generous laugh. Can't say the same though.
Only I know how I managed to drag these three days without her. As if she's an active flowing drug in my system that I can't get enough of.
Within a moment she's back with a plate. "Did you ..eat?" she finally looks at me and I restrained myself from pulling her on my lap and answered with full modesty "No" then she pushes the plate in my direction.
"You should go get changed first" I nodded and intended to get up when dadi stops me "By the way what're you here for Aarav?" I sit again back tracked for a second.
"Um there's an inauguration tomorrow that dad was invited in.. as he and Manav both were busy I'm volunteering" I don't need to tell her that I practically manipulated dad to send me here.
With that I walk away towards a guest room she pointed.
After shower, I ate chatting with them. I felt so much better after coming here.. what she said about how she felt. I still can't believe that what affects she has over me, I'm able to bring even fraction of that to her.
I woke up to a mild cold and when I looked at the washroom mirror I appeared dizzy. Red rimmed my eyes and the tip of my nose was a bulb of the same color.
When I was done showering I left the washroom only to be surprised by Mayra's mom waiting for me in my room "Morning aunty" I said ruffling my hairs dry.
"Oh Aarav why didn't you tell us you were arriving. We would've cancelled our plan last night" I awkwardly rubbed my nape "No worries aunty" she squints and then paces towards me "Are you cold?" she checks my temperature which was normal though "Lemme get you a herbal tea".
She's just like maa who gets panic over slightest things. Before I could protest she was already out of the room. I changed into my useful comfy clothes I brought with me.
Heading for downstairs, just as I closed in on the kitchen isle my attention snagged on my girl. Her hairs held lose and she wore a black kurti today. When she turned to me speaking something I only focused on her face, the face I missed for three days.
"Aarav" she calls me again and this time I slowly walked towards her "Yes my girlfriend" I whispered only for her to hear and she raises her brows biting the inside of her cheek to control that disastrous smile.
"Girlfriend?" she questions acting innocent. "Nah uh. My Girlfriend. I like to hear that" I added leaning on the counter when she offers me a cup.
"Drink this" I hide the amazement at her order as I do what she said. Instant gag reflex had me spill some of it on the floor. I was glad Adrika aunty was at the dinning table.
"This tastes horrible" I tried not to cringe and glared her when she did not stopped laughing. "What did you expect I was offering you hot chocolate" she says in between her laugh and I prevented the urge to pull her in my arms and have her taste on my tongue to erase this sting.
"I was expecting morning kisses though" I say dryly gazing at my cup once again with courage. "If you drink every drop of this I'll consider giving you one" she said, leaning on the counter beside me.
I couldn't hold my smugness back as I turned towards her leaning closer "Say you will and I'll drink it one breath" her gaze averts stretching behind me and she takes a smooth step behind "I will" and then she was gone.
I watch her as she leaves and gulped the stinking liquid in one go squeezing my eyes tightly.
At the table, I greeted everyone before taking a chair next to her. I just want to be close to her doesn't matter I'm in her house and closely watched by her parents.
"Mayra. Aarav came to Delhi after so long. Go hang out with him" dadi interrupted us, my spoon paused midway towards my mouth. She too pauses watching her grandmother with a knowing look.
"Why not" adds Mayra's dad. She looks flustered now but says anyway "Okay" that stretches the corner of my mouth to a smirk. She's still so scared of being alone with me. But she won't soon.
After breakfast we headed out and I rounded towards the car Uncle Dev gave us to drive. I noticed she wasn't following me so I twirled on my heels only to find her arms folded at the porch.
I leaned on the bonnet of the car angling my head in question. If she wishes me to pick her up and bring her to the car I'm gladly volunteering.
"Why are you so use to the car Aarav. We're going without it" that made me furrowed my brows. Before I could say anything she was already heading towards the main gate.
And I wasn't a fool to argue with her so I followed after. I picked up her pace and snaked my arms in her intertwining them. I can feel her muscle tense.
We walk in silence for some minutes before I broke in "You're awfully quite today" I commented earning her attention. As her eyes sagged on me I remembered something.
"Or are you trying to forget that deal this morning.." I leaned closer but she long jerked my hand and ran away. "Aarav we're in public" she glares with those soft bedroom eyes that it does something to me.
I noticed where we were and I refrained from visibly cringing "Metro?" she simply nods "Yes metro. Try enjoying public transports Mr. Parihaar" she stresses on the word Mr. Parihaar a little extra.
"Mayra are you sure? we can still go back you know" I try to make sense to her but she holds my wrist practically dragging me in the direction of the oncoming metro.
The metro stops and the door infront of us opens spilling out more and more people. She pulls me in and I looked around for space but it was crankily filled.
I hooked my fingers on the holder above and she does the same and when the metro jerked for the final time and moved. I grabbed her waist in one swift motion and pulled her against my chest preventing her from falling.
"A-Aarav" she stutters looking around. I slowly trailed the tip of my fingers on her exposed back and I felt her inhaling. I stifled my laugh and when a women left her seat for her stop I grabbed Mayra's hand and settled on the seat pulling her on my lap before she could react.
"What are you doing!" she whisper yells suddenly hyper aware of all the eyes on her "You dragged me in a metro full of people and avoided traveling in a car. This is the least you can do for me" I nuzzled in her hairs pointedly ignoring her embarrassment.
I love it when she gets so hyper when I touch her. Heck I love all of her reactions. I love how she says my name, I love how she cannot manage to stretch our eye contacts, I love her addictive cologne, her long hair, that beautiful smile.
