Aarav
"Adi no" I glared holes into that freak but he wouldn't understand a single damn thing. He rounds the couch running to catch me when Iti bhabhi passes by. I grab her wrist and use her as my shield.
"What is going on" her voice lacked that usual energy and I paused for a second to assess her "Tired?" she shakes her head and in the snap of second Adi jumps on me with the birthday cap.
"There you go" he slides the elastic under my chin and I groan in frustration "Happy birthday mate!" his grin widens as he leans on bhabhi whispering something to her that makes her burst into laughter.
"That cap suits you Aarav" we three turned in unison as the bad omen walks in with her two spawns. Bhabhi wiggles out of Adi's grip and greets bua earning a tight smile.
"Can't help I can pull anything" I answer not breaking the eye contact with Rudransh. The bastard had his nerves to roll his eyes on me.
As they settled on a nearby couch maa and Shorbari chachi were descending the stairs. The formalities were going on as me and Adi leaned on the back of the couch watching the dramatics unfold in front of us.
I threw away the cap somewhere when Adi bracketed his mouth whispering to me "Bet she'll be quarreling in next ten minutes" by she Adi means our own personal bad omen.
"Nah uh take it from me ..she won't take more than five minutes" we clap our hands silently watching the ladies conversing when dadi emerges out of the hallway.
"Oh Kiran beta kab aye" (Oh my Kiran when have you came?) she rounds the couches and gathers her daughter in a tight hug.
"I'm here for a while but I see everyone's busy with their own stuffs to care at all" she clicks her tongue scooting away to give dadi space beside her.
"Right Iti. tumhari behen nhi dikhti kabhi. Apne ghar me to chlta hai par tumhra sasural hai kuch to khyaal hona chahiye usse." (Right Iti. I never spot your sister, it's not her home where she can do whatever she likes, it's your in-laws house) I resisted grinding the jaw to the point it might break.
"Mera kya hai mai to ghar me bolungi. Bahar wale to bahar bolenge" (I don't mind such things but people out there will talk) she shakes her head plucking the cup of tea out and sips.
"Ap apna aane ka schedule bata dia kriye hum sabko taiyaar rakhenge swagat me" (You should inform us of your schedule beforehand.. we'll make all of us ready and presentable for you) I said, without a hint of regret as maa silently glares.
She was about to pin point my usual bland behavior when a woah sounded from the person standing next to me.
All of the heads snapped towards the stairs, in the direction of Mayra as she descends oblivious to all the attention while handling her saree. I blinked and blinked. Raking my gaze from the top to the bottom as she finally looks up.
The pink color indeed suits her, and if she's in saree. Uff. But that was not all.. she had a beautiful neck piece adorning her neck and it was the same I picked yesterday not knowing aunt Shorbari actually meant for her. Well I did think of her wearing that when I chose it.
Maybe I already got the best gift of my birthday. She walks towards maa and then greets the rest of them not once meeting my gaze. My attention shifted to an ugly bastard openly staring her as if he has all the right to.
Their growing friendship already annoyed the fuck out of me past three weeks and in my sheer annoyance I ended up bashing Rudransh's car twice. He still has no idea who did it. But he suspects me of course and if he confronted I won't even deny.
I watched her as she makes her way towards us or most probably Adi because even if the hell freezes she wouldn't approach me on her own and I like how she's aware of the fact that if she did it'll be end of her control.
When I asked her about that kiss and she confronted about erasing it if she could I had no amount of courage to push her. Even though it broke me so hard I lost all my control. I wanted to see her but at the same time I avoided her. I could spot her randomly walking down the hallways of the college and would pretend I didn't see her when I was searching for her myself.
Don't know since when she became the core of my existence but she did. And I don't blame her at all.
"Where's Moksha?" she questioned Adi pausing in front of us. I ignored her friend who couldn't stop assessing me on every step.
"Oh lemme do telepathy and call her" he attempts to joke earning an eye roll "Do you know or not?" he voice adds a hint of eagerness.
But something took my mind off entirely. I observed her hand movement and how it couldn't stop picking up her strap.
And as she trails off bickering with my cousin her hands slipped and my gaze zeroed on that red angry mark peeking out of the strap.
What the-
I went blank after that, it was harder to form even slightest of my thoughts and when she left her friend on her tail I noticed Rudransh following after her.
If he was the one who touched her, fucking marked what was mine. I wouldn't regret what I'll do to him and how fucking much I'll enjoy it.
