Mayra
"We have to leave soon. Weather is changing" his voice reaches me right after the sky groaned right above us. He was done buckling his belt back and I snapped my head away in case he saw me ogling him.
The walk after that was silent. No more flirty comments or small talks. And I was more than glad for it as we slowly neared the river side.
We passed the previous spot where Adi and his rest of the team was resting when I last saw them but no one could be seen around. "Where is your team?" I silently questioned him waiting for his answers.
Earning only a click of tongue in reply, is he annoyed for being left with me alone?
I walked past him not wanting to follow wherever he will lead me, I can find my own way. If he wants to be alone let him be. I close in on the river that is now flowing off the edge. Where me and Moksha climbed up from.
"Climbing up here is easy. Not the way down" a hoarse male voice stops me dead in my track and I whirl around with a pinning glare "Then tell me your majesty where shall we head?" I mocked getting irritated by his subtle calm.
"I don't know. Google maps are not working" he chews on the inside of his cheeks "What do you mean not working? It was fine before. Is your phone broken? or wait are you playing around with me again?" I was panicking by the moment I stopped talking to take a long breath.
"Tum chup kyu nhi hoti?" (Why don't you stop?) his brows raised on me and the panic started morphing into anger. Stupid jerk. Jerk. Jerk.
"Tum jawab kyu nhi dete!" (Why don't you answer!) I yell at his face and his forehead creases.
He shoves his phone in front of my face and I read the warning 'No internet connection due to poor weather. Danger Alert! there is a risk of heavy downpour' a heavy sigh leaves me before my arms sling on either side of me.
"What do we do now?" the words were mere whisper on my lips "We find our own way back" his voice carries behind him as he walked away first.
With heavy shoulders and exhaustion lining my body I followed after him. We walked around the woods for ten or maybe fifteen minutes when Aarav spotted another human being in the middle of this nowhere.
He appeared to be a monk because surely there was a monastery way down this hill. Aarav asked for his help in the directions and he did told us a way out.
We thanked him and lead the path he suggested after twenty minutes of walk we were down and out of the slopes. But we did not landed on the beach instead it was a not so busy highway road.
"We're on the backside of the hill" Aarav observed as he absentmindedly wrapped his fingers around my wrist and headed down the road.
The rain started pouring before we could find any shed and there we both were soaked till the bone while running down any close shop or cafe. His hand not leaving mine for once.
Gladly there was a bus stop we found on our way down and as we rushed under the shed of it Aarav's phone rang. He fishes out his phone but before answering he slings off his open shirt and throws it at me.
"I'm not cold" I remarked earning an eyeful "But you are transparent" heat curled around my cheeks as I glanced my t shirt, the front all soaked and stuck to my body like a second skin and the most embarrassing thing that my pink bra was crystal clear for the world.
I swiftly threw the t-shirt on my front clicking my tongue and shoving the embarrassment somewhere back in the collection.
I watch him hang the call before his eyes met mine "It was Adi" I wait for him to continue "They left in a car before the downpour. He was sending a car for us but the water logged on the main road" I shut my eyes and forced to breathe.
"Don't worry. let's book a room somewhere in the hotel here. It's almost night" he offers a reassuring glance before locking his hands around mine. I like how he so easily grabs my hands without any hesitation.
"We'll have to run" he says squeezing my hands gently for an answer "I'm already soaked" I shrugged my shoulders as a chuckle leaves him "You don't like rain?" he questions.
"I don't like to be transparent" I try to hide the shame lacing my tone "Don't worry kisi ne nhi dekha" (Don't worry no one saw you) I chewed on my lips "Tumne to dekha na" (But you did) I managed to say. His eyes trailed on my curves and lingered there for a moment.
"Hnn nonstop" (Yes nonstop) my eyes bulged at that and I hit him with my free hand at his chest "Pervert" his face lights up with mischief "Mai? tumhare liye yes" (Me? for you yes) he laughs and I bit back my retort to admire that soft laugh, that free and non-constricted laugh he rarely shows anyone.
His head turns towards the road and without another word he drags me under the rain and jogs into the direction of the busy town.
Being under the rain with him all alone feels so unnatural and so dreamy. It almost felt like a dream had it not been his heat crawling up my arms from where his hand joined mine.
"So your favorite color is pink" he glances back with a smirk and I avert my gaze elsewhere needing any kind of distraction to take over me.
Thankfully we neared the busy streets and he stopped by a cafe that was partially a hotel. I tried to dry myself a bit before entering in but who am I kidding I'm soaked from head to toe.
The receptionist was a female who only focused on Aarav not even sparing a glance at me "Hello sir, what would you like to order" she chimes and he was focused on the people moving around inside the cafe.
"We'd like to book a room" he simply says and that's when her eyes sagged on me "For two?" he only nods in answer.
"Okay. For how many hours?" she glanced me again this time a little bit irritation shown in her eyes "Till the morning probably" he looked at me to confirm and that was when it clicked me. It wasn't any ordinary hotel.
Usually couples seek such places for their hourly activities. Shit.
I stepped some inches away from him needing the distance so desperately. As she handles him our room key and eyes me for the final time I pretend I didn't see her. Aarav links his arms with me again leading us towards the stairs.
"You didn't know this was a couples place?" I hissed behind him and the jerk pulled a smug face "Of course I knew".
We enter our room that was comparatively very small from the suite we booked and unfortunately it had only one bed.
