Mayra
I did my best attempt at hiding my wrath while I was following him. We rounded the lobby and finally reached the restaurant. It's infuriating enough to know that he's heading to the same place. But who am I kidding we belong to a mutual friends group. I can't escape him. Not for long.
As we entered Moksha waves at us and I passed by him quickly getting there before him. The table was occupied by Moksha and Reyan on the left side. Aaksha and her friend Reet who was really a sweet heart settled on the right side.
The girl from earlier named Sherlyn or that's what Moksha told me, with Navya and Rudransh acquired the chair opposite us. Adi and Sharan were nowhere to be found.
I swiftly slid in next to Moksha while she was busy chatting with Reet "How come I never met you" she chimes but stops to squeal me in a hug before resuming her conversation.
"I was a new comer last year and I got close to Aaksha probably some months ago" she pulls a generous smile that mirrored Aaksha's "Great! Because I like you" the green head beside me clinks her glass of God knows what with Reet's cup of coffee.
I was engrossed in there conversation and never realised Aarav pulled a chair next to me. He has his attention zeroed on his phone and hardly paid anyone heed.
"Don't drink now muku or you won't be able to have any at the club where there's all vibe" Reyan interjects them in between and snatches away her glass and chugs the content in.
She groans when he grins. Sometimes I feel like they're dating or more like he's affectionate but I never voiced that to Moksha. Maybe that's their secret.
"Who are you?" I snapped out from my head and looked up to find Sherlyn giving me a once over look. "Mayra" I give her that only.
"And you've come with?" she speaks with an accusatory tone that I did not like. "None that you need to know" I speak when there's a grunt from beside me but it shuffled soon with the growing voice from the table.
"She's my bestiee" Moksha holds my hand defensively and I'm sure she's half drunk but I appreciate her act. "I thought this was a cousins only trip" a disappointed sound comes from Navya while she fans her nail extensions.
"Correction this was suppose to be the trip with people we enjoy. Not with wax barbies" lot of woohs go around the table when Aarav singlehandedly throws both the girls back in their shoes. Wait did he really said wax barbie to Sherlyn.
I try to hold my laugh but that's not the case with Moksha and Aaksha. The waiter soon arrives with our food and I finally thank the Gods because my stomach was growling.
I picked my choice of sauce and munched on the biggest bite of my tacos. And then a long sip of my juice when I felt a pair of eyes. I turned my head to find Aarav looking me up and down "what?" his lips twitch and lift at the corner.
"I didn't know you were a food enthusiastic" I just shrug my shoulders and get on with my food. Food is much important.
All the while we ate rest of us chatted, joked and some of them teased. Adi had joined us later and I shouldn't even be surprised when he slid in next to Reet to introduce himself. Even though she's in senior school he practically begs her to call him Adi and not brother. Typical Aditya.
"Lessgo get ready. We're leaving sharp at seven" Moksha shouts with pure excitement and gets up holding my hand "Mayra you follow me" and then I'm being dragged by her.
Partly because we're heading to the same suite as we decided to stay together for the trip and partly because she wants to doll me up.
While Aaksha stayed with her friend. Sherlyn shared her suite with Navya and I think they're not that okay with the fact. As for the boys I have no idea who's staying with who.
"Soo.." just as we landed in our suite she starts going through my suitcase which is full of clothes of her choice. I couldn't say no to her when she gave me a long lecture about 'When girls get saggy no one likes to look at their legs. Show them off gurl you have sexiest of them' but this wasn't the thing that encouraged me to dress up in bodycons.
The way Navya stressed on my style pissed me. I'm not that traditional of a girl and I too wear dresses but not often.
She pulls out a satin blue dress that flows just above by knees with spaghetti straps. "Get in this dress gurl. I'll bring my makeup bag" she throws it at me and I made way to the washroom.
After dressing up she cakes me up with minimal makeup just as I instructed her. Though she did gave me bold strokes of eye shadows and gone with a nude shade of lipstick.
We both were all set by the time clock ticked to seven fifteen. "Damn!" she squeezed the door shut and locks it with her key card and runs to the elevators. She wore a plain black bodycon with a deep v neck.
We both have straightened out hairs and maybe I think I feel different today and not the same Mayra.
Three mercedez waited for us at the exit of the resort. In the first car, Adi was at the driving seat with Reyan and Navya at the backseat. "I'll go with Adi. You can go with Aarav or Sharan" she gives me a pat before hopping towards the passenger seat.
I make way towards the second car that had Aarav and on his passenger seat settled Sherlyn. Well a big no.
I moved to settle in the last car when someone called me "Mayra join me" I twirled aroound to find Rudransh staring me back from the window seat.
Is Rudransh and Aarav in same car?? I shake my head to deny his request but he was standing next to me with the door wide open for me in seconds.
I hesitantly hopped in not wanting to cause any drama when my eyes fell on the rear view mirror. Aarav was watching me. I avert my gaze shifting more towards the door giving more space between me and Rudransh as possible.
The engine revved to life and the car drove off. The destination was ten minutes apart and we reached before quarter to eight.
We scanned IDs and maybe Aarav had his settings with the guard because he let both Aaksha and Reet in too.
Just as we entered all the neon lights flashed in my view. The sound, the chatter, the smell was all too much for me. I scanned many crowds with either a glass or a bottle in their hands. The club reeked of alcohol and sweat.
I was so lost staring into space that when a hand on the small of my back guided me through the crowd I realised it much later. Zero surviving skills dumbhead.
"Lost?" the low voice dipped with honey pours in my ear. I turned sideways to look at Aarav's face. "N-no" he makes a show of looking at me for some seconds before his forehead creases "Why didn't you use your lavender perfume" out of many things I never anticipated this.
It's now that I realised I've used Moksha's lily perfume but aren't all perfumes meant to make you smell good. "What's wrong with lilies?" his lips part slightly before he shuts them off "I don't like lilies" this is my turn to squint at him.
"Your sister love lilies and she sprayed it on me" I speak with a stern voice and he's glaring at me as if that alone answers my question. "All the more reason you don't put it on. You're not my sister." with that he drops the hand that was on my back burning me through the cloth.
My eyes never left his face not even when he does a quick sweep of his gaze all over me as if no one's watching him watch me.
