Alan started to ignore me for a while. He didn't come to his room or sleep on the bed with me. It angered me and frustrated me. I wanted to see him, touch him. The only good thing he did was immediately call Matteo back earning a thank you from me.
I started to feel suffocated inside the room so I decided to take fresh air I walked out of the room only to be stopped by the bodyguards.
"I want to take fresh air," I grumbled.
"We will follow you," both of them said at once.
I nodded and walked out.
"Where's your boss?" I questioned once I made myself comfortable on a bench.
"He has gone out," one of them said.
I was thinking of asking them when he would be back when a car parked in the distance. A man in a black suit walked out. He noticed me in a few seconds and walked towards me. He ran his hand through his hair and smiled.
"Mishka," he said with his thick voice.
"Niccolo," I smiled getting up.
"Boss isn't here," Gaetano said.
"You should leave," Cesare ordered.
Niccolo stood in front of his face and spoke in Italian. A few times his eyes found mine. The colour drained from their faces when Niccolo spoke the next word. I wished I had learned Italian despite Alan's warning. If only he had let me I would have known what he was saying.
In the next second Ceasre asked me to follow him inside. He locked me in the room and left. I tried asking what happened but all he said was they needed to leave.
I was pacing back and forth thinking of the worst when there was a light knock on the door. The door was locked from the outside. I opened my mouth to scream when it opened revealing Niccolo.
"Niccolo," I said. "What are you..."
"I am taking you out," he smiled standing at the door.
"But..."
"I thought I would help you get some air, take you somewhere out of here......you know you never leave this place,"
I looked at him not uttering a word.
"Come on, don won't be home till morning. You can have time for yourself till then. I will take you to a club,"
"I don't understand Italian,"
"You don't need to. Everyone understands English,"
I gave it a thought. I knew Niccolo wanted to marry me or so I had heard but he never showed me he was a threat whenever we met. He was always polite and didn't dare to touch me after what I had said at that party.
"Give me a minute,"
He nodded and left the room. I got dressed and walked out to find him standing near the stairs. Niccolo started at me for some time.
"You must have always heard how beautiful you are but let me remind you again. You are so beautiful," he said.
"Don't flatter me,"
"I am not trying to,"
He gestured me to take a lead and he followed me. The guards didn't question him or stop him when he drove me out of the mansion. Either they didn't see me or they didn't care. What would Alan say or do if he found out I wasn't in the bedroom?
The stopping of the car told me we were outside his club. The driver opened the door for us. He placed a hand on my back and asked me to move. Once we were inside he insisted I take a drink. Few heads moved towards us but no one dared to walk toward me.
