So... I decided to write this chapter a little differently. It's basically just the chat between Cody and Obi-Wan. The lack of interpunction etc. is intentional because, as much as it irritates me, only minority of people bothers to use something like interpunction or capital letters in a chat. Let me know if you liked it or if I should avoid this type of chapter in the future.
CODY:
hey how are you today?
OBI-WAN:Fine, thank you for asking.
I'm meeting my friend and generally making the most of the weekend.
CODY:
the friend who threw you into the water fountain?
OBI-WAN:
Yeah, that one.
He acts before he thinks.
CODY:
i figured
you should rething your choice of friends
OBI-WAN:
People tell me that a lot.
CODY:
maybe there is something to it
OBI-WAN:
Maybe.
And what are your plans for the weekend, if you don't mind me asking?
CODY:
nothing much
just watching over the kids
OBI-WAN:
Now I've been meaning to ask, how many kids?
CODY:
uh...
a lot?
OBI-WAN:
That means?
CODY:
eight
Obi-Wan stared at the screen. Eight children. He was trying to get a man who apparently had eight children. Sure, he saw the boy in the mall but that could've been... a nephew or something. But of course that was just Obi-Wan's wishful thinking. Cody had eight children and was probably married or at least in a relationship. Of course he had to fall for a taken man...
OBI-WAN:
How old are they?
CODY:
the youngest is just about two weeks old
OBI-WAN:
Aww, that's cute.
CODY:
before anything, he is loud
but he is asleep in the moment
Obi-Wan should probably stop torturing himself and just change the topic. But he didn't want to, not when Cody seemed so happy to write about his children. So he went along.
OBI-WAN:
Does he look a lot like you?
CODY:
he looks like any other fett
we all look like copies of each other
OBI-WAN:
I noticed. Some teachers have troubles telling Wolffe and Fox apart.
CODY:
i find that hard to believe
they are not that identical
OBI-WAN:
For the record, they are pretty similar.
