Far from Central City, Alphonse Elric was locked in deep combat with the Crimson Lotus Alchemist, Solf J. Kimblee, along with the first Homunculus, Pride the Arrogant. Armed with a Philosopher's Stone, Alphonse steels his nerves as he prepares to take on two of the strongest foes he's ever faced.
Kimblee: A Philosopher's Stone!?
Pride: But where did he find one!?
Planting his hand down on the ground, Alphonse kicked up a massive dust storm that completely covered the area in dust, preventing Kimblee and Pride from tracking his location. The two foes jumped back to try and clear their eyes of the dust and relocate Alphonse before he made another escape with the injured Heinkel.
Kimblee: Dust in our eyes? Again?
Suddenly, from the dust cloud behind Kimblee, Alphonse emerged and punched Kimblee in the back, sending him stumbling across the field. Recovering quickly, Kimblee clapped his hands together and planted them on the ground, causing the surrounding area to explode and hurl debris at Alphonse. In response, Alphonse, fueled by his Philosopher's Stone, erected a small wall in front of him to block the attack.

Unfortunately, that didn't last long though, as Pride swooped in and sliced the wall apart with one of his shadow tendrils. Jumping back, Alphonse attempted to dodge more of Pride's tendrils, however, in the process, one managed to slice off his arm. Rushing ahead at Pride, undeterred. Alphonse simply regenerated his arm with his alchemy and stone.
Taking Alphonse's leg which he sliced off earlier, Pride threw the leg at the armored boy, who simply caught it and proceeded to transmute it into a sword with his alchemy. The two proceeded to clash with each other. Cornering Pride, the First Homunculus erected a shadow tendril to block the sword strike. However, Alphonse simply used his alchemy to cause the sword to suddenly bend and strike Pride in the face, sending the Homunculus to the ground.

Not letting up on his assault either, Kimblee planted his hands on the ground and blew up the area around Alphonse, attempting to blow him up and prevent him from continuing to interfere with his and the Homunculi's plans for the Promised Day. However, the young armored boy quickly shot himself up into the air on a dragon-like stone, taking him far away from the explosion.
