3rd Person POV

In a small, lone abandoned warehouse, the unlikely party had ended up taking shelter to hide from the cold and rest while they tried to figure out what happened to Alphonse when he suddenly passed out from out of nowhere.

From inside, young automail mechanic Winry Rockbell was keeping a close eye on her childhood friend, having to prepare herself for when he wakes up and notices the fact that they all had to dismantle him so they could safely transport him into the warehouse without little issue from his bulky size.

From across the room, the rest of the group was busy trying to figure out the notes that Scar's brother left behind so they could figure out how to stop the Promised Day from coming to fruition and bringing the end to all of Amestris... But, for now, they were stuck facing the elements of the cold... Mainly the wind, which Yoki wasn't doing well with, having caught a cold from the frigid environment.

Yoki: (Sneezes) Achoo!

Soma: Geez, cover your mouth!

Dr. Marcoh: (Shows May the book) Look at this, he mentions that phrase again here.

May: Yet another term for gold, it's gotta be some kind of pattern.

Winry: (Walks over to the group) What are you trying to do?

Dr. Marcoh: We believe there's a chance these notes were written in codes.

Winry: You think so?

Dr. Marcoh: Alchemists are typically very protective of their research and methods. They bury the meaning of their notes beneath a layer of metaphor and allegory...

Soma: Like what you told the Elric's... "Find the truth, within the truth..."

Dr. Marcoh: Precisely. (Looks back down at the notes) But these are almost straightforward. There's something else going on...

May: We noticed that he uses several different terms for gold and immortality across various passages. So we're checking to see if they're connected.

Nana: And you think that could be the code?

May: Well, we're hoping so.

Suddenly, a small voice came from behind them. Turning around to the noise, the group was deeply relieved to see that Alphonse was finally awake from his strange slumber. Unfortunately though, he was slightly disoriented from suddenly collapsing on the ground, and then having been dismantled and left in pieces.

Alphonse: (Confused) Where... Where am I?

Winry: (Runs to Alphonse) Al!

May: (Follows Winry) Alphonse!

Winry: I'm so glad you're okay! I was so scared you might not wake up- I didn't know what to do.

Alphonse: Oh... Sorry. I didn't mean to freak you out like that. Where are we anyway? And why am I in pieces?

Timeskip

After a while, night had fallen, making everything colder than they were already. However, the group spent the time by filling Alphonse in on what had happened while he was unconscious and stuck in that strange void of his mind.

Winry: And that's basically it.

Scar: As for why you're in pieces, you were too heavy to carry whole. So we had to dismantle you.

Alphonse: Ah... That makes sense. Sorry to put you guys out like that.

Winry: Has this ever happened to you before?
