Julianne's POV

"Open the door and I'll kill you all quickly. Your brother didn't feel a thing...You try to fight me and I'll make you watch Julianne die slowly," he drawls through the door, and I can't stop the desperate plea to Holden.

He can't be dead

When we hear a scuffle, Tate lets out a cry.

"He's not dead. I'm gonna help him!" He says as he opens the door, and Miles stands infront of him.

"You three stay here," Miles says, but Tate shakes his head as he pushes past.

"Either help me or get outta my way. This is my brother!"

Gage stays behind in the bathroom and brings me to him, cradling me against his body as he peeks his head out of the bathroom to try and see what's happening.

"Took them long enough. Tate, open the door and motion them in!"

"Grebner!" Tate argues.

"He's not going anywhere. Hurry!"

"Come on, Jules. I think the cops are finally here," Gage says as he takes my hand and pulls me out of the bathroom.

When I get to the hall, a sob escapes my lips.

Holden is on his back with his arms wrapped around Grebner's neck....and both of them are lying unconscious with Grebner's head on Holden's chest.

Miles has his hands on Grebner incase he wakes up, but Holden has lost almost all of his coloring and I'm pretty sure he's dead.

And I just stand there, unable to process the grief I'm feeling.

I honestly just feel numb.

Lundy and several other cops burst through the door with their weapons drawn, and when they take in the scene Lundy blows out a breath.

"No," he breathes as he keeps his gun drawn and points it at Grebner.

"I've got an officer down," he says in his radio, and when he bends to feel his pulse, he nods.

"He's still alive." He instantly cuffs Grebner and then motions for the paramedics to come over to him. They put him on a stretcher and when Lundy bends to check Holden, I hold my breath.

Please, please, please

"He's alive too!"

Tate literally falls to his knees on the floor and just watches with his mouth open, and Gage holds me tighter as I start to sob.

"Want me to cuff him, boss?" An officer asks.

Lundy looks at us, and Miles shakes his head. "I have all the damn proof you need. Your boy is the killer. Take care of Mr. T."

Lundy literally looks like he's in pain as he shakes his head. "No. Put Holden on the first ambulance."

The paramedics do a bunch of things as they strap him to a stretcher, and Lundy turns to me. "We need your statements, kids. I'm sorry."

"No. I'm going with my brother," I say as I break out of Gage's grasp and follow as they start wheeling Holden out of the house.

"Me too," Tate says as he finally stands up weakly and takes my hand.

"We'll stay behind and answer questions. Can we call our parents?" Gage asks Lundy, and I can't hear Lundy's response as we leave the house.

They load Holden up quickly and motion for us to climb in. "You two hurt?" A guy asks as he looks at me for a long moment.
