14. Grandbaby

At the bakugou residence

Bakugou was sipping on coffee as he sat across Bailey. Bailey was falling asleep as she attempted to eat.

"Sleeps matters, squirt."he said. Bailey yawned.

"You lucky you cute."he mumbled. He finished his coffee. He walked to the small child. He picked her up. Bailey laid her head on his shoulder. Bakugou rubbed her back. He went back to his room. He placed the sleeping child in his bed. He laid in bed with her. His phone chimed. It was Izuku.

Izuku: you okay? You normally here by now.

Bakugou looked at the sleeping child. He sighed. He texted him back.

Bakugou: I am coming.

He left the bed and went to the living room. He called a familiar person.

Bakugou: oi, you still want to meet the brat?
Mother: finally you call me!!! I been calling you! You don't check on your mother any-
B: shut it hag! Can you babysitter or not?
Mother: I am coming to visit my grandbaby!
B: she is not your grandchild! She ain't my kid.
M: you are my brat. Your brat is my grandchild. That's how a family tree works, dummy!
B: I am not stupid hag! I know how a family tree works! Just get here in quick. I need to work-

He heard knocking on the door. He hanged up the phone. He opened the door, it was his mother, Mitsuki standing outside.

"You can't be knocking on my door like that! You could had woken up the kid."he said. His mother entered the house.

"Where is my grandbaby?"she asked ignoring her son comment.

"Sleep. She had trouble sleeping last night. Let her sleep. Call me when she wakes up. She didn't finish her breakfast. Make sure she eats."he said.

"I know how take care of kid, brat. Go to work."she said with a smile.

"Dont tell me what to do, old hag."he said before he left. Mitsuki went to the bedroom. He saw Bailey lying in bed sleeping. She quietly cooed before taking photos. She went to the kitchen to see what food her son had.

She started reorganizing the food in the kitchen because katsuki had it too chaotic. After she was done, she looked at the time. It was almost lunch. She check on the child. Bailey was tangle up in the blankets as she slept.

She was about to leave when she noticed Bailey was unconsciously searching for something near her. Mitsuki looked around the bed for a toy or blanket that could had fallen out of the bed.

Bailey realized bakugou wasn't next to her. She sat up. She looked around the room. She saw bakugou mother. Bailey remembers bakugou showing her a photo when he talking about his childhood.

She climbed out of bed. She check the house for any sign of bakugou. She sat on the floor of living room in defeat. She started crying. Mitsuki tired to comfort her by rubbing her back. She started super crying. Mitsuki was flew back onto the couch.  She called her son.

Meanwhile in the city

Bakugou was explaining the injuries of the victims of the attack to the medics. His patrol partner, Kirishima was getting interviewed by a local new reporter nearby.

"Dynamight is the one who made the plan to rescue the citizens. I just assisted."said Kirishima. The reporter tried to interview bakugou. He ignored the camera in front of him. Kirishima happily answer the reporter questions. Bakugou phone rang. He answered the phone as he walk away from the crime scene. He was greeted by super wailing. He hissed in pain as he moved the phone from his ear. The reporters nearby heard the noise. They zoomed their cameras into bakugou as the hero was standing behind the police lines and away from the crime scene.

"Put it on speaker."he yelled. He wait a moment before speaking again. " mouse quiet it! You will damage the hag old hearing!

Bailey quirk stopped and Mitsuki spoke.

"I am not old!"she said. Bakugou ignored his mother comment. "Mouse, I can't let you sleep in everyday. You gotta go sleep on time, got it?"

Then was moment of silence. Bakugou remembered she can't respond. " did she nod?" He asked to his mother.

"She did."said Mitsuki.

"Good. Now make sure she eats lunch. I will be back later." He said. He ended the call. He went back to the crime scene.

Bakugou was eating dinner as his mother complimented how helpful Bailey was making dinner.

"She was lot more helpful than you at that age."said Mitsuki.

"Don't you have a husband waiting for you at home?"said bakugou. There a low chance that his father was since he was normally works late making clothes in his studio.

"He is at the studio. Speaking of which! Bailey would be perfect to model some of the children clothes."said Mitsuki. Bailey tilted her head in confusion.

"No."said bakugou.

"And why not?"asked Mitsuki with a raised an eyebrow.

"She is not staying here long."bakugou points out. He only watching her few months. Bailey stop eating to frown.

"Katsuki! Don't say that!"scolded Mitsuki.

"Why not? It's the truth!"said bakugou. He knew the child is only here for short time. He doesn't need to get attached to her either should his mother.

Bailey left the kitchen solemnly. Mitsuki smack her son upside the head. Bakugou glared at her.

"No child wants to feel unwanted idiot!"she said. Bakugou understands that. He just can't keep her. Bailey needs better home than him.

"It's the truth. Don't start getting attached to her. She isn't your grandkid."he said. Mitsuki hit him again.

"Katsuki! You not even thinking about her!-"

"Yes I am!"he said loudly.

"No you are not! You are idiot for not seeing that Bailey loves you! She already attach to you! You saying she only temporarily is breaking that baby heart!"said Mitsuki.

"Get out of my house, hag!"yelled bakugou. Mitsuki glared at her son. They started arguing at how he needs treat his mother better.

Meanwhile in the bedroom

Bailey was sitting in own bed. She hugging her blue dog plushie. Silent cried as she longed for forever home.
