6. Buddy

At the wonder duo agency

Bakugou was signing Bailey in the daycare within the building. It's only for employees children. So it should be safe. Bailey was hugging bakugou leg while the workers try to coax her to enter the playroom.  After bakugou was done, he kneeled to Bailey height.

"I will be back, mouse. You need be good. That means no loud wailing, got it?"asked bakugou. Bailey nodded. Bakugou patted her head before standing.

"Now, go."said bakugou. Bailey pouted. Bakugou avoid looking at her. "Go."he said sternly. Bailey frowned as she walked inside.

Bakugou threatened the workers before he left. Bailey was standing in the playroom that was huge. It only had about less than 10 kids in it. Bailey went to go sat under the slide. She watch another kids play around. A boy with black curly hair walked to her.

"You new?"asked the boy. Bailey nodded.

"I am Kazumi! My friends call me kaz! Let's go meet them."said Kazumi. He started walking away. Bailey walked behind him. They walked to two more kids.

"Karma and kira. They are twins!"said Kazumi.

"I am older by an hour!"said karma. The boy hair was half red and half black.

"Nobody cares!"said kira. Her hair was half white and half black. Karma rolled his eyes.

"Guys meet um... what is your name?"asked Kazumi. Bailey heart started beating fast as fiddle with her hands. Her eyes started watering.

"It's okay! Japanese is hard! We will give you an easy name like umm."said karma. He looked at his twin sister for help.

"Bunny!"said Kia.she pointed to the bunny on Bailey shirt.

"Yeah! We will call you bunny! Welcome to wonder duo daycare, bunny."said Kazumi. Then the staff called the kids for gather around the table for art and crafts. Bailey was following the staff instructions. They made a butterfly.

While Bailey was enjoying daycare, bakugou was getting annoyed by his co workers. Bakugou was getting asked by them.

"What's her name?"
"How old is her?"
"What's her quirk?"

"Shut it extras!"said bakugou. He left the locker room. He marched up to midoriya.

"Let's go, nerd!"said bakugou. Bakugou and midoriya patrol together in the morning. In the afternoon, he patrols with Kirishima. The two friends were walking around the area on the rooftops.

"So I did some research about selective mutism. It is very interesting! Did you know some kids adapted by using sign language? You can finally use your sign language skills!"said midoriya. Bakugou rolled his eyes.

Bakugou only learned sign language because his doctor predicted that he may go deaf due to his explosive quirk. Midoriya only knew about bakugou sign language skills when they were on a rescue team. Bakugou used sign language to communicate with a victim who was deaf but bakugou hasn't used it since.

"Can we stop talking about her?"said bakugou annoyed. Midoriya looked at him concerned.

"You okay? You don't seem excited about having a daughter."said midoriya.

"She is not my daughter!"said bakugou. Midoriya raised an eyebrow.

"Why did you accept her into your home?"asked midoriya. Bakugou jumped to the next building to avoid the conversation. Midoriya followed him.

"You know I am also licensed to be temporary guardian. I can keep her safe if you want to protect her."said midoriya. Bakugou stopped jumping. He looked over the building to street below.

"She chose me. She picked me. A hero that most kids are scared of. She found safety in me. I will protect her at all cost."said bakugou. Midoriya smiled before smirking

"I will protect her at all cost too."said midoriya.

" I will let the world burn for her if it means she can keep warmth."said bakugou with determination in his eyes. Midoriya understands that look. He gets that same look when someone even look at his son the wrong way.

Then they heard a yell for help. They jumped off the building and ran to the crime.

While bakugou was fighting crime, Bailey was fighting sleep. Her peers were napping around her. Bailey was sitting on the mat. The staff tried to reading books to her, warm milk and even lullabies. Bailey wasn't going to sleep. She can't sleep without the warmth of her father. She wrapped herself in a blanket and watched her new friends sleeping in a puppy pile.

Bailey was less energetic as her friends when they woke up. They tried to play try games but Bailey sat and watched instead. Bailey was happy it was time to leave. The twins were pick up by their mother, Momo. Then Kazumi and Bailey waited the longest. All the another kids got pick up. Soon the staff members started decreasing too. Bailey was getting nervous. She started fiddling with her hands as her eyes started watering.

"Bunny! It's okay. My daddy coming! Then he can help you find your parents!"said Kazumi. Bailey nodded. Another hour passed, Kazumi father, midoriya showed up.

"Daddy! My friend needs your help!"said Kazumi. He grabbed midoriya hand and took to under the slide. Bailey was curled up with her head in between her knees.

"Bunny parents are missing! She needs your help."said Kazumi. Midoriya chuckled.

"I know her parent."said midoriya. bailey looked up. She meet him before but she doesn't trust him. She shook her head.

"Daddy can help! He is pro hero!"said Kazumi. Midoriya kneeled to Bailey.

"Your father is coming."said midoriya. Bailey looked unconvinced. "We will wait with you."he adds. Midoriya sat next to her. Kazumi sat on her other side. Kazumi started talking about what happened today to his father. After few minutes, bakugou walked in. He saw the empty playroom.

"Oi! You have 5 seconds before I go home with you."said bakugou. Bailey ran to him. She almost knocked him over when she hug his leg. Midoriya walked up to him with Kazumi.

"Uncle Kacchan! You know bunny?!"said Kazumi.

"Her name is Bailey."bakugou points out.

"Bailey is his daughter."said midoriya. Kazumi gasped.

"Now we can hang outside daycare! Cool! Please can we hang out!!!?!"asked Kazumi as he bounced on his feet. He looked at Bailey with hope in his eyes. Bakugou glared at midoriya.

"Kaz, you can't hang out today. Maybe later."said midoriya. He picked up Kazumi. "Kazumi, see bye"

"Bye uncle Kacchan, bye bunny."said Kazumi. Bailey waved goodbye.

"Nerd, we going to the same direction."said bakugou. They both parked in the garage.

"Oh yeah."said midoriya. They left the daycare. They walked to the garage. Kazumi wiggled out of midoriya arms.

"Bunny! You can be my walking buddy!"said kazumi. He struck his hand out to Bailey. Bailey hesitated. She was about move her arm when bakugou pick her up.

"Two short stacks shouldn't be walking buddies."said bakugou. Midoriya held Kazumi hand. They parted ways in the garage.
