Avery's POV
The insistent beeping of the alarm clock pulled me from a deep sleep. Hindi ko iyon pinansin, my eyes still closed, savoring the last moments of drowsiness.
Nakayakap lang ako sa pillow na katabi ko, hoping to drift back to sleep for a few more precious minutes.
Wait, pillow?
My mind slowly began to register that something was off. The pillow beneath my hand felt oddly firm and warm.
I opened my eyes, and to my shock, I realized I wasn't holding a pillow at all. Nakayakap ako Tyler. My arm was draped across his chest, and I could feel the steady rise and fall of his breathing under my touch.
Heat flooded my face as I quickly withdrew my arm and scrambled to sit up, napansin kong naalimpungatan si Tyler dahil sa ginawa ko.
Tyler groaned softly and blinked his eyes open, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as he saw my flustered expression. "Good morning, Mrs. Sandoval." he teased, his voice husky with sleep.
I could feel my cheeks burning even more as I avoided his gaze. "Sorry! I didn't mean to... I don't know how that happened," I stammered, glancing around the room in search of the alarm clock.
Its persistent beeping filled the room, reminding us na umaga na. Inayos siguro iyon ni Secretary KC para magising kami ng maaga. I spotted it on the bedside table and quickly turned it off. Its already 7:00 AM, and I remembered our flight back to the Philippines was scheduled for 11:00 AM.
Tyler chuckled softly and stretched. "No worries. It's not a big deal." He yawned and settled back into the pillows, closing his eyes again. "We've still got some time before we need to get ready."
I watched him for a moment, unsure of what to say or do. The intimacy of the moment lingered, making me feel both awkward and strangely comforted.
Finally, I decided to let it go and focus on the day ahead. "Okay, I'll let you sleep a bit more. I'm going to start getting ready."
He gave a lazy wave of acknowledgment without opening his eyes. "Just wake me up when you're done." Dumapa pa siya ng higa at natulog na ulit.
As I headed to the bathroom, I couldn't help but steal one last glance at Tyler. His smirk was still etched in my mind, a reminder of how close we had been just moments ago.
Shaking my head to clear my thoughts, I closed the bathroom door behind me and began my morning routine.
Standing in front of the mirror, I couldn't stop the small smile that formed on my lips. Despite the confusion and uncertainty that had marked our relationship so far, there were moments like these that gave me hope.
Maybe, just maybe, we could find a way to make this work. One step at a time, as Tyler had said. And today, the first step was making it to our flight on time.
Sinuot ko yung black gucci coat na binili namin sa mall. When I finally emerged from the bathroom, feeling refreshed and more composed, I found Tyler still lying in bed, his eyes open now, watching me with a curious expression.
"Ready to get up?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
He nodded and stretched once more before swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "Yeah. We've got a plane to catch." He stood up and headed to the bathroom, pausing briefly to look back at me. "By the way, The coat you're wearing suits you."
I felt my cheeks heat up again as I mumbled a quick "Thanks." and busied myself with packing our things. As I heard the shower start, I allowed myself a small smile.
