Avery's POV
I was gently awoken by the sound of Tyler's voice and the soft touch of his hand on my face.
"Avery, it's time for dinner," he said softly, his face illuminated by the warm glow of the setting sun.
I slowly opened my eyes and stretched, feeling surprisingly refreshed after my nap. The exhaustion from earlier seemed to have lifted a bit, and I felt ready to face the evening.
"Okay." I murmured, smiling up at him as he helped me sit up.
He guided me to the mini table set up in front of the large window, offering a stunning view of New York's skyline. The city lights were beginning to twinkle, creating a breathtaking backdrop for our meal.
The table was beautifully arranged with a variety of healthy dishes, all carefully selected to support my recovery. I took a seat, and Tyler sat across from me, his eyes watching me with a mix of concern and tenderness.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine care.
"I'm feeling better now." I replied, taking a sip of water. "The food looks amazing." Ngayon lang ako nakaramdam ng gutom. Masyadong mahaba ang naging tulog ko mula kaninang umaga.
Inikot ko ang paningin ko sa buong room. "Where's Tyrone?" I asked.
"She's in Ruth's room for now. She'll be there so you can rest properly. Secretary KC is handling my remaining paperworks at Sandoval Empire. But tomorrow, she'll join us at the hospital again," Tyler smiled, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. He seemed distracted, his thoughts elsewhere.
As we began eating, I couldn't help but notice the silence between us. It wasn't the comfortable kind, but rather a tense, weighted silence.
"Tyler," I finally said, breaking the quiet, "Is everything alright?"
He looked up from his plate, his expression conflicted. "It's nothing, really. Just a lot on my mind."
"You can talk to me, you know. I'm here for you too." Sabi ko naman.
He took a deep breath at kagaya ko ay huminto muna din siya sa pagkain. "It's just... I had a conversation with Analea earlier. She's also checked in at this hotel," he added.
My eyes widened in shock. My heart skipped a beat at the mention of Analea. "She's here? What did she say to you?"
"We just talked about the business tips she needed. She said there's an investor for their company here in New York, and she's going to meet them. She also asked about your treatment," Tyler replied.
"Actually, I don't trust her. She once put our lives in danger back at the farmhouse," I said, unable to hide my fear about what Analea might be planning now that she was here in New York. Paniguradong nandito siya hindi dahil sa investor lang.
"She doesn't know yet that I am aware of all the bad things she's done," He said with a sigh.
"You know, even though Analea has become like this, I think she only did it because she loves you. She wants you back," I said, gripping my spoon and fork tightly.
"The situation is different now, Avery. Some things shouldn't be revisited once they're over." He said.
"Finish your food." he said and resumed eating.
We continued our dinner, the tension slowly easing as we talked about lighter topics. The healthy food was delicious, and I felt my strength returning with each bite. The view of the New York skyline was breathtaking, and for a moment, I allowed myself to enjoy the beauty of the moment.
