Tyler's POV
After a long day of OJT at the prestigious law school in Paris, I finally arrived at the condo I was renting. The chill outside was biting, far colder than I had anticipated.
As soon as I stepped inside the condo, I headed straight for the heater and turned it on full blast. I shivered slightly as the warmth began to spread through the room.
I quickly changed out of my heavy coat and scarf, swapping them for a thick sweater and comfortable pants. The cold had a way of seeping into your bones here, and I was grateful for the cozy indoor atmosphere.
I rubbed my hands together and made my way to the large kitchenette, grabbing a cup of hot coffee before settling down on the couch.
It's 2:30PM here now, at paniguradong gabi na sa pilipinas. First things first. I needed to check in with Mr. Fernandez about the Sandoval Empire Company. Picking up my phone, I dialed his number and waited as it rang.
("Hello, Master Tyler,") Mr. Fernandez greeted me warmly when he picked up.
"Good Evening, Mr. Fernandez. How are things back home?" I asked, taking a sip of my coffee.
("The company is doing well. We've managed to secure a few new contracts, and the overall performance has been steady. We're on track to restore the Miranda Enterprises to its former glory in just a few more months, thanks to Sandoval Empire guidance and strategy,") he reported.
I felt a wave of relief. Despite being miles away, my responsibilities were always on my mind. "That's great to hear. Keep up the good work. How's everything else?"
Medyo napahinto ito bago ulit nagsalita. ("Master, about the divorce papers you asked me to prepare...")
I sighed, leaning back against the couch. "Hold them for now. I haven't talked to Avery about it yet."
("I understand, Master. Is there a reason for the delay?") he asked, sounding curious but respectful.
How could I explain that Avery was dealing with a brain tumor? That her health was fragile, and adding more stress to her life was the last thing I wanted to do?
I chose my words carefully. "It's complicated. Avery is going through a lot right now, and I don't want to add to her burden. I'll give her the papers when the time is right."
("But Master, are you sure about your decision? Mr. Sandoval will be furious if he finds out, and this will be big news for the reporters.") I could hear the worry in his voice.
"I know. I'll think it over carefully. But for now, only the two of us know about this. Keep it secure."
Mr. Fernandez seemed to understand. ("I see. In the meantime, I'll keep them secure. The company's stability remains our priority.")
"Thank you, Mr. Fernandez. Your support means a lot," I replied sincerely.
After a few more updates on the business, I ended the call and set my phone down. Thoughts of Avery and Tyrone filled my mind. There was a part of me that wanted to take care of Avery, to support her through her illness and be there for Tyrone. He was a bright spot in our lives, and his presence had brought an unexpected warmth and joy to our home.
But another part of me couldn't forget Analea and the relationship we once had. That was my plan all along, once Avery's parents' company recovered, I'll file a divorce. That's why I agreed to the arranged marriage in the first place to help them, even if it meant sacrificing my own happiness.
