Atlas, Keevin, and Darren finally reached the main hall, finding it far noisier than usual. Rumors had spread about a team being formed to investigate a demon portal in Cleveland. Suddenly, the hall fell silent as Gildart Lokeshore appeared.

"A very good morning, everyone. I'm Gildart Lokeshore, your ninth guild master, and I have an announcement to make," Gildart declared. "Yesterday, I received a letter from the government, and this is what it said."

He began to read the letter aloud: "Greetings, Brokstorm Guild Master. I am reaching out to you for assistance in investigating a newly opened demon portal in Cleveland. We request you send a team of four, accompanied by the royal guard. We have chosen one participant, your son, Atlas Lokeshore, known for his remarkable enchantment and healing abilities, which we believe will ensure the mission's success. You may select the remaining three members."

Atlas's heart pounded in his chest. "No, this isn't what I want. Yes, I aspire to be a mage, but I'm not ready yet," he thought, fear gripping him.

Sensing his distress, Keevin gave him a reassuring side hug. "Don't worry. You'll be fine," Keevin whispered soothingly.

Gildart continued, "And now I shall announce the team. First, Atlas Lokeshore, a mage. Secondly, Keevin Scarz, a warrior. Thirdly, Myles Shickym, a warrior. Lastly, Leonard Goncalves, a guardian. You have two days to prepare; you will depart with the government on Thursday."

The room erupted in cheers and applause. "When will it be my turn?" a random stranger's voice echoed through the hall. Despite the celebrations, Atlas was consumed with dread, worried about the upcoming fight.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm here to help you, and I will protect you, my love. Let's go to your recovery room first," Keevin said, looking at Atlas with concern. They headed to the recovery room, and as soon as they arrived, tears began to stream down Atlas's face.

"I'm scared. I'm afraid I'll lose you, Keevin. I'm so terrified I don't even know what to say," Atlas confessed, his voice trembling.

"Hey, look at me. I'm here. We can do this together. I promise you, it will be fine," Keevin said, comforting Atlas with a hug. "We should leave early. I'm going to teach you a few skills before we go," Keevin added, managing to calm Atlas with his words.
