Chapter 64: True Resolve

As the golden light from the manuscript faded, Future Atlas stood before the group. His voice was steady but somber. “Before I return to my time, I have one final request, Atlas. No matter what happens, be true to your heart.”

Atlas felt the sincerity in those words and nodded, though his chest tightened with the weight of expectation.

But before Future Atlas could continue, a violent wind howled through the grove. Everyone was thrown back as a figure emerged from the swirling shadows. Future Creed had arrived.

"Having a heartfelt reunion without me?" Future Creed’s voice dripped with mockery, his crimson eyes gleaming with malice. His grin stretched unnaturally wide, exposing sharp teeth as he stepped closer.
Creed immediately moved in front of both Atlases, shielding them with his body.

Future Creed’s gaze locked onto the manuscript in Atlas’s hand. “So, you finally got it,” he sneered, his laughter ringing out like a broken bell. “That little book is my key to supremacy. Hand it over, or I’ll take it myself.”

“Why are you doing this?” Creed asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

Future Creed’s smile widened, his face twisting with madness. “To rule the world! Don’t you see? With the manuscript, I can tear down the heavens themselves and build a new order. One where we finally win!”
Creed’s eyes narrowed, but he said nothing, holding his ground.

“Tch, you’re making this harder than it needs to be,” Future Creed spat. With a flick of his wrist, he sent a wave of dark energy hurtling toward the group.

Future Atlas reacted instantly, summoning a shield to block the attack. “We need to leave. Now!” he shouted.

But Future Creed wasn’t done. “You’re not going anywhere,” he snarled. Another surge of dark magic erupted from his palms, only to be nullified by Creed’s quick intervention.

“What are you doing?” Future Creed demanded, his voice rising in frustration.

“Stopping you,” Creed replied simply.

“Stop me? You’re a fool. I am what you’ll become. We are the same, Creed,” Future Creed hissed. “And yet, you still protect them? Fine. Die with them!”

Raising his arms, Future Creed cast a spell that blanketed the grove in suffocating darkness. The air grew thin, and everyone gasped as the malevolent energy constricted their lungs.

Creed turned to Atlas, desperation flashing in his eyes. “Are you okay? Stay with me!”

Atlas nodded weakly, clutching the manuscript as if it were the only thing tethering him to life.
“Enjoy your slow death,” Future Creed cackled. “Let my power consume you!”

As the darkness thickened, Atlas forced himself to stand, his legs shaking. He clutched the glowing mark on his hand, feeling its warmth. His parents' whispers echoed faintly in his mind, giving him strength.

“Not yet,” Atlas muttered. His voice grew louder, more resolute. “I won’t let you win!”

In that moment, the mark on his hand flared brilliantly, illuminating the suffocating darkness. Atlas’s magic surged, pushing back against the oppressive force of Future Creed's spell.
The battle for the manuscript—and the future—was far from over.
