Chapter 63: The Sacred Manuscript

As Atlas and Future Atlas sat near the cascading waterfall, the sound of rushing water echoing through the sacred grove, Future Atlas broke the silence. "Place your hand in the water and release your magic," he instructed softly.

Atlas hesitated but did as he was told, extending his trembling hand into the cool water. He let his magic flow, and immediately, ripples of light began to radiate from his palm. The energy grew more intense, forming intricate patterns on his skin, and a glowing mark appeared on his right hand.

“What… What is this?” Atlas stammered, staring at the luminous mark now etched into his flesh.

Before anyone could respond, the waterfall began to slow, the once-unending cascade coming to an abrupt halt. The water twisted upward in a spiral, a dazzling phenomenon that left everyone momentarily speechless. From within the spiraling waters, an ancient, golden manuscript emerged, its light illuminating the grove in a warm, otherworldly glow.

The manuscript landed in Atlas’s hands, and its weight felt heavier than anything he'd ever held, both physically and emotionally.

“The manuscript is yours now, Atlas,” Future Atlas said, his voice steady but tinged with sorrow. “Guard it well. It is the key to rewriting our fate.”

Future Atlas turned to Creed, his expression softening. “Creed, I’m trusting you. This world’s Creed isn’t like mine. Please, take care of him—protect Atlas with everything you have.”

Creed nodded, his usual aloofness giving way to quiet determination. “I will.”

For a moment, the Future Atlas broke down, tears silently streaming down his face. “I’ve missed this, Creed,” he whispered, his voice cracking. “I missed your embrace. I missed you.”

Without hesitation, Creed stepped forward and enveloped Future Atlas in a tight embrace. It was a rare moment of vulnerability, one that left even Atlas speechless. Watching his future self tremble in Creed’s arms, he couldn’t help but feel the weight of the torment Future Atlas had endured.

After a long pause, Future Atlas released Creed and approached his younger self. His gaze was steady, filled with both hope and resignation. “Change our future, Atlas. Be stronger than I was. Be the Atlas who can stand tall against despair.”
