Chapter 62: The Garden of Illiyi
The group stood amidst a breathtaking landscape. A majestic waterfall cascaded into a crystal-clear pool, surrounded by vibrant, otherworldly greenery.
“This looks like heaven,” Nowell said, his voice filled with awe.
“Technically, it is,” Future Atlas replied calmly.
Eyes wide, everyone except Creed blurted out, “Wait, are we dead?!”
Future Atlas chuckled. “No. This is the Garden of Illiyi. It’s located near the house, but it’s sealed by magic,” he explained.
“How have I never seen this place before?” Atlas asked, his curiosity piqued.
“It reveals itself only when the time is right,” Future Atlas said.
As they explored the garden, Atlas noticed a book resting on an ancient pedestal. Its cover bore the name Heartmiller's. Carefully, he opened it. The moment he did, a brilliant light erupted from its pages, bathing the surroundings in an ethereal glow.
A powerful wave of magic surged through the air, causing everyone’s hair to flow as if caught in a gentle breeze. Suddenly, a soft voice echoed in the air.
“Ebbing of the ethereal luminescence,” a gentle woman’s voice whispered.
“Where the shadows are vanquished,” the voice continued.
“Time can be rewritten,” it added, its tone full of hope.
“As the stars finally collide, the true heart whispers its voice,” a deep, calming man’s voice concluded.
The light dimmed as the book closed itself.
“What… what was that?” Atlas asked, his voice trembling.
Future Atlas stepped closer and placed a hand on his shoulder. “That was the voice of our parents,” he said softly.
Tears welled up in Atlas’s eyes.
“I found the manuscript once,” Future Atlas admitted, his voice tinged with sorrow. “But I wasn’t strong enough to wield its power. It consumed me, and I failed to change the future.”
As Future Atlas guided Atlas toward the waterfall, the younger Atlas’s mind raced with thoughts. His breathing grew uneven, his steps heavy.
“Take it easy,” Future Atlas urged, his tone steady and reassuring.
