A surge of adrenaline coursed through Atlas's body like lightning. "Everyone, get down!" he bellowed, and with lightning speed, they obeyed, dropping to the ground. He raised his hand, conjuring a shimmering force field that enveloped them just as a volley of dark arrows rained down from the sky. Tragically, those caught outside the shield fell to the onslaught.
Peering beyond the protective barrier, Atlas glimpsed a horde of demons marching inexorably toward them. His voice faltered.
"Everyone, attack!" Kristen's command shattered the tense silence.
Government soldiers roared with fury, charging towards the demonic horde alongside Atlas's group. As the shield dissolved, they clashed with the fiends in a frenzy of steel and magic. Atlas knelt, his hand touching the earth as he chanted, "Veli Amritz," casting a radiant spell that bathed the battlefield in a celestial glow. Instantly, the remaining soldiers and his comrades were imbued with newfound strength, dispatching demons with startling ease.
Myles marveled as his sword glowed with a luminous blue hue. "Enchantment magic," he whispered in awe, slicing through demons with unprecedented speed.
Leonard raised his shield, slamming it into the ground. The earth trembled beneath his feet. "Such power," he marveled, eyes fixed on Atlas. "It must be the enchantment magic," he realized, flashing a grin before joining the fray.
A sudden footstep jolted Atlas from his focus, and a shadow wielding an axe charged from behind. Just as the blade neared his neck, Keevin's sword intercepted, its edge gleaming with emerald sparks. "Watch yourself, Atlas," Keevin warned, eyes blazing with intensity. Atlas scanned their surroundings, nodding in acknowledgement. "You can't enchant too many of us—it drains too much mana," Keevin cautioned. "I understand," Atlas replied, determination etched on his face.
With a swift motion, Keevin darted towards the demons, dispatching them with breathtaking speed, his every move a dance of lethal precision. "That's my husband," Atlas murmured, admiration glowing in his eyes.
"Now it's my turn," Atlas declared, channeling his energy into his hands. With a glance to his side, he unleashed a torrent of water magic, engulfing several demons in a watery grave. As another demon charged at him, he summoned flames with a forceful thrust, incinerating the creature in a blaze of searing heat.
Taking a deep breath, Atlas steeled himself. "It's time to unleash all the magic I've learned," he resolved silently. A voracious reader, Atlas had absorbed countless spells from his books.
Keevin, amazed by Atlas's proficiency, ran to his side, standing back-to-back with him. "Where did you learn all this, honey?" Keevin asked, admiration coloring his voice. Atlas smiled warmly. "From someone I met long ago," he replied cryptically, eyes gleaming with determination.
