Morning had dawned as Atlas and Keevin donned their battle attire, nearing Cleveland with each step. Rather than take transportation, they chose to traverse the remaining miles on foot. Approaching the city, the landscape transformed gradually: once lush and green, now charred remnants of trees lay scattered, smoke hanging heavy, and the air thick with heat. Atlas and Keevin stayed close, fearing separation.

"Damn, this place is like a descent into hell," Leonard remarked.

"You're right," agreed Keevin.

"Everyone, stay vigilant," urged Myles.

Atlas surveyed their group, their faces reflecting shared apprehension. His gaze swept over the desolation, eyes widening at the sight of a child impaled on a spear. Pallor washed over him, cold sweat prickling his skin.

"This is just the beginning. We must press on to the heart of Cleveland," Gavin asserted. "Don't be afraid, Atlas. We'll make it through. Summon your courage and take that next step. I believe in you." Gavin's smile was reassuring.

Keevin took Atlas's hand, drawing him closer. "Stay by my side. I'll protect you."

Atlas nodded, gripping Keevin's hand tightly as they moved forward together.

As they advanced, demon corpses lined their path, a grim testament to the dangers ahead. The group's expressions hardened, each step deliberate and cautious.

"So many demons slain already, yet I sense more lurking," Keevin pondered silently, glancing at Atlas and then ahead. "This is perilous. I must tread carefully."

Atlas's eyes betrayed his fear. "I can't do this. I'm scared. I'm weak," he thought, feeling overwhelmed. Suddenly, Keevin gently pulled him close, their faces drawing near, and they kissed.

"You can do this, Atlas," Keevin assured him softly.

Stunned by the gesture, Atlas found clarity. "I can't rely on others to save me. I must stand on my own. What's the point of coming here if I'm only filled with fear?" he resolved inwardly. "Yes, I can do this," he affirmed aloud, determination flickering in his eyes despite lingering fear.
