Atlas woke up and glanced at the clock beside his bed; it was 6:20 a.m. He turned to Keevin, kissed his cheek, and whispered, "Good morning, my love." Gently, Atlas rose, careful not to wake Keevin, and made his way downstairs to the kitchen. He brewed a pot of tea and prepared bagels with cheese for breakfast before heading to the shower.
After his shower, he emerged to find Keevin already in the kitchen, waiting for him. "Wow, you rarely wake up this early. Is something going on?" Atlas asked.
"I couldn't go back to sleep after you woke up, so I came down to see what you were doing," Keevin replied.
"Alright then," Atlas said with a smile. He went to find his clothes while Keevin took his turn in the shower. Once Keevin was dressed, they sat down to breakfast together, and Keevin insisted on washing the dishes. Atlas swept the living room floor, his thoughts drifting to how handsome Keevin looked, even while washing dishes. "Wow, this elf is so handsome, even when he's washing dishes," he mused with a smile.
"Atlas!" Keevin called out. "Yes?" Atlas replied. "I'm finished. Let's go to the guild together." "Yeah, let's go."
Hand in hand, they walked to the guild, arriving after fifteen minutes to find a bustling crowd. "Yo, Atlas! Good morning! And to you too, Keevin," greeted Darren. He walked over to Atlas and whispered with a mischievous grin, "So, how many rounds did you guys go last night?"
"Shut up, pervert," Atlas retorted, laughing. "Oh, before I forget, the guild master is looking for you, Keevin," Darren added. "Dad? Why so sudden?" Atlas asked. "I don't know exactly why, but he said he'll be waiting in his room," Darren replied. "Alright then, I guess I should go find him," Keevin said, heading off.
Atlas and Darren headed to the recovery room, where they encountered Nowell, who handed them food. "Thanks, Nowell, for the baguette and coffee this morning," Darren said cheerfully. "Yeah, thanks, Nowell," Atlas echoed. "You look good today, Atlas," Nowell remarked with a smile. "Haha, thanks, Nowell. You're really good with words," Atlas responded, trying to hide his annoyance with a playful tone. "Well, if you'll excuse us, we have work to do. Have a good day, Nowell!" Atlas said, pulling Darren towards the recovery room.
"I feel sorry for Nowell. Even though he knows you're engaged to Keevin, he still tries so hard to win you over," Darren said. "Yeah," Atlas sighed. "I don't know how to help him. Why don't you date him, Darren?" "Are you stupid? We're cousins, OMG," Darren exclaimed, feigning disgust. They both laughed until a knock on the door interrupted them.
"Come in," Atlas called. The door opened to reveal the guild master with Keevin. A tense silence filled the room. "Yes, Dad? Why are you here?" Atlas asked.
"I received a letter from the government," Gildart Lokeshore said, his expression stern. Atlas's face turned pale with fear. "This time, the government wants you to investigate an open demon portal in the west, at Clevendale."
Atlas was so shocked he could hardly move or speak. "I tried negotiating with the government to let you stay here, but they refused," Gildart continued. "Fortunately, they allowed me to assemble a team for this mission. I've discussed it with Keevin, and I'll announce the team shortly. For now, head to the main hall. We'll meet there later."
Everyone nodded and quickly made their way to the main hall.
