Chapter 61: Fall

“Atlas, wait!” a yell echoed through the air, drawing everyone's attention. Atlas immediately bolted toward the sound, but before he could get far, Future Creed’s iron grip held him back. He struggled, but the hold was unrelenting.

The footsteps came to an abrupt halt, and Atlas gasped, his eyes widening in disbelief. Standing before him was someone all too familiar.

“Me?” Atlas stammered, his voice laced with shock.

“You need to get away from him!” Future Atlas called out, his tone urgent as he pointed at Future Creed.

Atlas tried to wrestle free, but Future Creed’s grasp only tightened. “Ah! Let me go!” Atlas cried, the pressure on his arm unbearable. The bruises quickly turned purple, and soon blood trickled down his skin.

Future Creed’s face twisted into a sinister grin. “Haha, I won’t let you go! You’ll give me the manuscript, and I’ll rule the world!” he declared with a manic laugh.

A sudden flash of magic streaked toward Future Creed’s head. Sensing the attack, he ducked just in time, allowing Atlas to slip free. Without hesitation, Atlas sprinted toward Future Atlas, his heart pounding in his chest.

Future Creed snarled, glaring at Future Atlas. “Damn you, Atlas!”

Atlas hesitated, watching the exchange, his anxiety mounting.

“You’re not the Creed I know,” Future Atlas said, his tone sharp and resolute.

Future Creed’s laughter echoed through the air. “You’re such a fool, Atlas. Someone like you will never harness the manuscript’s power. You’ll waste it, just like you’ve wasted your own potential!”

Summoning a glowing light sword, Future Atlas lunged at Future Creed, who countered with dark, claw-like energy. Their clash sent sparks flying.

“Is that all you’ve got?” Future Creed mocked, his voice dripping with disdain.

Ignoring the taunt, Future Atlas cast a smoke spell, obscuring the battlefield. Before vanishing into the haze, he turned to Atlas. “The manuscript is hidden nearby. Find it before it’s too late!”

When the smoke cleared, the group found themselves in an entirely different location.

“This… this place seems familiar,” Atlas muttered, his voice trembling with recognition.
