Missing
Season 10 x 09
December, 2003:

"thanks, gio" i smiled
he had hand me down baby clothes to drop off.
"i know it's early but cynthia won't stop bugging me about them"
"you two aren't trying for another?"
"we are" he smiled
"you know how many baby clothes we have in our house?"
"way too many"
he opened his car door
"you have a shift, huh?"
"a half shift" i shrugged
"take it easy"
"love you, gio" i smiled, walking up the stairs to my apartment.
"love you too, gia"
——
i closed my car door and swung my bag over my shoulder.
sam was just walking out of the ambulance bay.
"how's your nausea?" she asked
"not so bad today" i shrugged
"easy shift?"
"never" she cackled
"how're you, alex?"
"just great" he groaned
"i'll see you soon, sam" i smiled
"take care, gianna"
"i'll try" i smiled
i opened the doors to the ambulance bay and when i got into the lounge to put my coat away, i felt luka wrap his arms around my neck.
"how've you been?" i smiled, throwing my scarf into my locker.
"alex was following me around and sam doesn't like it"
"is that why alex was in a bad mood"
"yeah" he sighed
"please tell me it's easy out there" i groaned, turning my body around to face him.
"not so bad?" he shrugged, smirking.
"we had a jane doe come in"
"trying to track her parents"
"well; i guess i better get out there" i sighed
"take your time" he shrugged
——
i lifted a box of supplies down the hallway.
"hey, g" pratt shouted
"i got that"
"yeah, i can stock up for you if you want" abby added
i continued walking down the hallway
"i love you guys and really appreciate you looking out for me"
"but until i'm the size of a hippopotamus, don't worry about me" i smiled
"you're pregnant!" pratt said, defensively
"yes i am"
"im avoiding radiation, diseases, coughs but i promise you this box of iv kits and foleys isn't that heavy"
"well, if you need help, just call"
"thanks pratt" i smiled, bending down.
"or if you need to sleep in an exam room, i'll guard the door" abby shrugged
"thanks abby" i laughed

i sat down, putting an iv in gallants patient.
"so, i heard your good news"
"yeah" i smiled
i hooked the iv bag to the tube
"how far along are you?"
"just about 9 weeks" i smiled
"well, congratulations to you and luka"
"thank you, micheal"
"cbc, liver panel and tox?"
"yes ma'am"
i scribbled into the chart and put the vile of blood in my pocket.
"i'll get these to the lab"
"thank you, gianna"
"mind getting a blood sample from ms. reck over here?" susan asked as i walked down the hallway
"no problem" i smiled, nodding.
i went over to the supply rack and a fresh tube and needle.
i walked back over to the gurney and put on a fresh pair of gloves.
i put the elastic around the top of her arm.
"is this gonna hurt?" the lady asked
"no"
"you seem young" she said, sceptical.
"thank you" i laughed
i put the needle in
"not so bad, huh?"
"no" she sighed
"i've been doing this awhile" i grinned
i closed the vile and took off my gloves
"i'll be back"
i walked down the hallway.
"i'm making a lab run" abby smiled, i handed over my samples
"thank you"
every so often, abby would take nursing shifts along with her med student days. between her and sam, it was sort of nice having all this help around the hospital.
——
i wandered into the trauma room. my shift had finished but i was worried about the jane doe girl.
"still no parents?"
"no" abby sighed
i stroked the top of the girls head.
"it's sad"
"yeah" she whispered
"aren't you off?" she asked
i nodded my head
"i was waiting for luka to finish up"
"how about you?"
"i have a little less than an hour"
"well, you have a good night, abby"
"you too, gianna"
i walked over to the admit desk and sat down on the floor.
"you feeling alright?" frank asked
"nauseous" i groaned, rubbing my hand through my hair
"it just hit me now"
"do you know where luka is?" i added
frank looked down at me
"i'm right here" he said, coming out from the lounge.
he had my coat and bag in his hands too.
i stood back up and put my coat on.
"thank you" i smiled
he held out his hand and i put mine in his.
"goodnight, frank" luka smiled
"yeah, see you two" he sighed
still hand in hand, we began walking out of the hospital.
