everyone was grown up now. i'm 23 years old and i've been in the music industry for about 5 years now. i started putting out music when i was 18. i was given the gift from my mom with lyricism. i've won 3 grammys and other awards as well but im most excited about my grammys. my brother jack who is 20 years old is a football player like my dad. right now he plays college football but he is entering the draft next year so im very proud of him. he plays tight-end like my dad and he is named the best tight-end in college football right now. he is on top of the world. mom is now 58 and she still produces music and writes songs for other artists as well. she still tours as well. she recently just finished a tour for her 23rd studio album. she has continued to break records and is still one of the most famous singers in the world today. dad is also 58 and is retired from football. he retired about 20 years ago. he's in the hall of fame, which is not surprising. he won a total of 6 super bowls. he is also now a coach for the chiefs.
tonight i finished my show in nashville, tennessee. this tour has been my most attended tour ever. mostly because im touring in stadiums now, its a big change but the stadiums are way more electric.
"thank you all very much for coming tonight! i love each and every one of you!" i said in the mic as i was lowered down under the stage. i got my in-ears disconnected and started to walk back to my dressing room. everyone was congratulating me on a great show and i thanked them on the way.
i got back to my room and let out a huge sigh. man do i love performing but im always so tired after the shows. i relaxed for a little on the couch in my dressing room and that's when i heard my phone blowing up. i picked up my phone and that's when i saw hundreds of texts and missed calls.
mom🩷: y/n please call me or your dad it's really urgent.
dad‼️: y/n please call us when you can. love you.
there were floods of texts and calls. i set up my phone at my vanity and sat down and facetimed my mom. she answered.
"hey mom what's u—mom? why are you crying?!" i said.
"y/n? where are you!?" mom cried.
"i just finished my show in nashville is everything okay? is dad there? jack? i saw all of your messages just now...is everything okay?" i said.
"y/n you need to get home as soon as you can okay?" mom said crying.
"i have a show tomorrow what's going on?" i said starting to panic.
"y/n you just need to get here." mom said crying.
"mom you're scaring me! what's going on?!" i said.
"it's your brother..." dad said over the phone.
"what do you mean? where's jack? is he okay?!" i yelled.
"y/n he's gone!" mom cried. i felt myself go numb.
"what do you mean he's gone?!" i said tears brimming my eyes.
"he was hit by a drunk driver on the way to practice" dad said.
"YOURE LYING HES NOT GONE!" i cried.
"y/n just get here please" mom said crying.
"okay i'm gonna get my plane" i cried.
"okay baby we'll see you soon" mom said crying. i hung up the phone and i stood up and just fell to knees and screamed. my brother and i were very close and he was just gone like that. i let out the most gut wrenching scream and sobs. my publicist ashely came running in.
