i had a game later tonight that started at 4:30. this would be the first game that taylor was attending. i did want avery to meet tay a little earlier than just today but tay has been busy with touring and when tay was free ave was at her mom's house.
right now avery was down for a nap but it was time to get her up because people would start arriving soon, including tay. i told tay to come a little earlier so ave had more time to warm up to her. i have mentioned tay to her but i don't think she fully grasps the concept.
"ave...hey girly" i whispered as she opened her eyes slowly.
"daddy?" she mumbled tiredly as she rubbed her eyes
"hey baby girl! how'd you sleep?" i asked softly.
"good" she mumbled
"we gotta get up. tay is gonna be here soon and we gotta get you ready for the game" i said and she nodded as she reached out for me. i picked her up and held her and rubbed her back for a little until she was fully awake.
"alright let's pick out an outfit for you" i said as i sat her down on the ground.

"daddy?" she asked softly.
"yes sweetie?" i answered.
"u-um are you gonna be with me?" she asked softly.
"what do you mean baby? at the game?" i asked. she nodded.
"no i'm sorry sweetie. i have to play! remember taylor is going to be with you?" i said. she nodded. "grandma will be there and some of my friends like uncle ross" i said.
"uncle ross!" she said excitedly. i smiled at her happiness
"alright girly let's get you some food. i think taylor will be here soon" i said.
i made her a quick sandwich and some fruit and i sat with her while she ate.
"daddy?" she said.
"yes sweetie?" i said looking up from my phone. taylor said she would be here in about 5 minutes.
"is taylor nice? mommy said she wasn't." she said
"what? mommy said that?" i asked. she nodded her head and i let out a sigh. "well, taylor is VERY nice and i think you will love her. you know, i think you guys will get along well" i said.
"okay" she said sounding a little unsure. then a smiled appeared on her face. "i'm excited to meet taylor!" she said, then the doorbell rang.
"i think that's taylor. come on come to the door with me" i said.
i helped ave down from the stool at the island and she grabbed my hand as we walked to the door. once i opened and she saw taylor and her big security guard she got frightened and hid behind my leg.
"hey baby" i smiled as i kissed taylor.
"hey trav! i missed you" she said giving a peck on the lips in return. i winced a little as i felt avery squeezing the life out of my leg.
"ave? what's wrong girly? you were just excited 30 seconds ago to meet taylor. why are you getting all nervous" i chuckled as i picked her up and she cradled her head into my neck.
"can you say hi to taylor?" i said softly. she nervously waved at tay.
"hi avery! your daddy has told me so much about you!" taylor said with a warming smile.
"really?" she asked as she perked up.
"yup! he even told me your favorite candy, which i brought for you!" taylor said as she handed her the bag.
"rainbow gummies!!!( airhead extreme strip bites)" she said excitedly.
"what do you say girly?" i said
"thank you" she said with a smile.
"oh and, avery, this is drew. this is taylor's security guard. he keeps taylor safe" i said
"he looks scary" she mumbled which caused us all to laugh, including drew.
"he's not scary i promise. he only looks scary cause he has to but i promise that drew is very nice" she said and ave nodded.
about an hour later
everyone had arrived to the house by now but now it was time for me to head to the stadium.
"alright girly i have to go" i said as i came over to where avery was on the couch sitting with tay.
"no! i don't want you to go" she said sadly.
"it's alright girly you'll meet me there in the stadium okay?" i said.
"no!" she said as she started to cry and reach out for me. "daddy i want to go with you please!" she cried. i couldn't stand to see my daughter cry so i picked her up and brought her into a separate room.
"hey take deep breaths" i said as i sat her down on the bed and crouched in front of her.
"daddy i don't want you to leave" she sniffled.
"i know sweetie and im sorry. but i promise you will see me there. maybe grandma could take you down to the field before the game so you can see me. would you like that?" i asked. she nodded.
"okay but the only way you can is if you stop crying okay? i promise i will see you before i play okay?" i said.
"pinky promise?" she asked as she looked at me with her big brown eyes.
"pinky promise" i said as i interlocked my pinky with hers.
"alright i have to go now okay?" i said as i picked her up. she nodded and i walked her back out to the living room.

we had just arrived at the game and avery was still asking for her dad. i felt bad because she wanted me to go down with her to the field but realistically i couldn't because it just wasn't safe enough.
"im sorry sweetie i can't go with you, but your grandma will" i said.
"awww okay" she said as she hung her head low

grandma took me down to the field where i could see daddy and soon enough i see him walking over.
"daddy!!" i said as i reached up from him to pick me up. he took off his helmet then picked me up.
"hey babygirl! you having fun?" he asked as she kissed my cheek.
"yeah! but..." i started.
"but what?" he asked.
"i wanted taylor to come down here with me but she said she couldn't" i pouted.
"aww it's okay girly, im glad you are making friends with taylor though" he said
"i love taylor!" i exclaimed. he returned a smile and soon enough i was back in the suite with taylor and then me dad and taylor left together in daddy's cool car.
