The Straw Hats were still being chased by marines and Smoker wasn't going after them.
A marine asked Smoker if he wasn't going after them.
He said he was too tired and to tell them to stop chasing the Straw Hats and contact HQ to surround Alabasta.

Chopper and Lashes were on a hugr crab, moving towards Nami's perfume.
Apparently, Lashes was friends with a lot of animals, including the Moving Crab.

"Hey, we're not, by any chance, just going to run all the way to Alubarna like this, right?!" Usopp asked them as they ran past many buildings.
"That's right, Lashes! Where has Lashes gone?!", Nami questioned.
"Now that you mention it, this town has a stable or something! Let's get horses!", Luffy suggested.
"But the marines are in town.", Vivi reasoned.
"Not to worry. Look in front of you.", Sanji nudged his head in front of them as they exited the town.
"HEY, GUYS!!", Chopper shouted, smiling widely.
Usopp's eyes went out of their sockets.
"A CRAB?!"
"That's one weird crab..." , Yushiro noted.
"Chopper!" , Nami was shocked.
"That's a Moving Crab!", Vivi exclaimed.
"Looks yummy!", Luffy drooled.
The crab stopped in front of them.
"AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! THAT'S AWESOME!", Luffy was just amazed by the crab.
"Hop on board!", Chopper motioned them with his hoof.
"WE GET TO RIDE IT?! WOO-HOO!", Luffy stretched his hands on top of thr crab's huge eye and hung onto there.
"The pleasure's mine!"
"Its face looks kind of iffy, doesn't it?", Nami got a good look of the crab.
"That camel does too, but you're not saying anything about it." , Yushiro deadpanned.
"And you've got yet another amazing thing in tow, huh?", Sanji laughed.
They all went ahead.
"He's Lashes's friend.", Chopper informed.
"Lashes was born in this town, and has lots of friends in the area.
He is kind of pervy, though."
The crab transfered the Straw Hats onto its back with its.....idk how to call his uhmmm.. hand? Idk.
"Amazing! Moving Crabs are always submerged under the sand, so they're nearly phantom crabs!", Vivi told them.
