Chapter 113: The Duel between friends

The battle was decided.

It was set at 10 to start.

And with that, Yushiro was the first to leave the deck.

They all noticed, but didn't say anything.

Yushiro decided to distract himself by passing the time drawing.

Each time he would though.... the events kept flashing in his memory and that made his chest clench.

Grasping his pen tightly, he continued drawing.

After a few minutes he stopped and realized what he had drawn.....

Then, he heard the door creak and smelled Nami come in.

He leaned back in his chair and looked at the ceiling.

Nami hugged him from behind. He patted her head in response.

He could smell tears.

He broke the silence. "What's.... Luffy doing...? Does his face hurt...?"

Nami's eyes flashed with anger, but mostly sadness. "That idiot! He's hitting in his hammock until the battle starts. Told me to leave because he told me it was no use! The nerve!"

Yushiro patted her hands to motion her to stop hugging him and he turned around with his chair to face her.
"Usopp won't back down either... but..... he was the one to go against the captain's orders..... if anyone should apologize it's him...
And....", he then motioned to his cheek.

Nami's eyes flashed with recognition.
"Oh! Yeah, the bruise on his cheek seems to have healed already. If you wanna make sure, you can always check up on him yourself."

Yushiro stiffened at that.

Nami's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but then she realized what he was thinking about.

Honestly, everyone was shocked. Even Zoro jumped a little bit at the sudden reaction. Everyone was expecting Sanji to stop the argument from escalating further, but Yushiro attacking Luffy seemed to set everyone on edge.

Because to the crew, Luffy and Yushiro were the closest since they were brothers.

A sudden crash was heard from the cabin below, making the duo jump.

They looked at each other before sprinting down the stairs and busting the door open.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU BEAT THEM TO A PULP THEN?! THEN USOPP WOULDN'T HAVE HAD THE AWFUL EXPERIENCE OF BEING ATTACKED BY THEM--!"

"THEN YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED HERE TO FIGHT TOO, INSTEAD OF GOING OUT SHOPPING!"

"I'M A COOK-- WE NEED SOME ESSENTIALS--!"

Nami snapped at both of them. "STOP FIGHTING AT A TIME LIKE THIS!"

Both of them were silenced by that.

Nami sighed. "Don't argue about things that cannot be changed.", she said before guiding Yushiro over to sit down.

Sanji hesitated before weakly retorting back. "But, Nami-san... this idiot..."
