Chapter 89: The Mock Town

Usopp was looking out to the sea with some binoculars.

"Still don't see it, Usopp?", Luffy asked.

"No, i don't see it yet.", he shook his head and continued looking for the island.

"This Jaya island isn't that far, right?", Zoro asked Nami.

"Yeah, since the weather has been stable for a while now, we should already be in this island's climate.", Nami stated.

Luffy was lying on Merry's figurehead.
"Then, Jaya must be a spring island.", Luffy guessed.

Chopper and Yushiro were seating on the railing not too far away from him.

"It feels nice and warm.", Chopper commented.

Yushiro nodded at his words.
"Spring weather's nice."

Chopper looked up at the sky and saw some seagulls flying around their ship.
"It looks like the seagulls are enjoying it, too."

Usopp looked like he agreed as he rested his head on his palm up on the crow's nest and listened to the seagulls' noises.

Suddenly, one seagull fell on the deck, dead.

"Eh?", Chopper and Yushiro looked at it.

Then, the two others fell too.

Chopper then screamed.
"Ahhh!! They were shot!!", he ran to the seagull that was trying to get up.

"Oh!", Luffy appeared next to Yushiro.
"Let's make yakitori!"

Usopp, on the crow's nest, looked confused.
"Shot? I didn't hear any gunfire."

Chopper then pulled out a bullet from the seagull with his tool.

"Look, I found a bullet! Considering the direction that they were flying, the bullets came from the direction the ship's facing!", Chopper explained frantically.

Nami then walked up the stairs towards them.
"Are you saying that shots came from an island that we can't even see yet?
That's impossible, Chopper."

"But i was watching them the whole time.", Chopper retorted.

Usopp just laughed.
"Then what kind of eyesight, sniping skills and rifle do you think this sniper has?
They were shot somewhere else and just happened to fall now."

Chopper looked conflicted.

"Sanji, we got seagulls!", Luffy shouted happily.

After a few minutes, the Going Merry has reached the Mock Town.

Luffy looked excited.
"Wow! Cool! I see a neat-looking town!"

Usopp and Chopper matched his energy.

"Hey, hey, doesn't it kinda look like a resort?", Usopp grinned.

"Resort?!", Chopper exclaimed.

"Hurry up, Merry!", Luffy patted Merry's figurehead.

"Yeah, it makes me feel like I want to stick around a bit." , Nami smiled as she admitted.

"Yeah, but we can't. Remember?", Yushiro reminded her as he looked at the town.
