"Woah...", Steven took some steps back, slightly tripping up in the sand and nearly falling over again, getting himself covered in even more sand than he already was. "h-hey there lions", he studdered, hoping that since he can speak to animals they won't try and attack him. Thankfully, all but the pink lion walked away uninterested and seeming to barely even notice steven, the pink lion laid down in front of him and and yawned. "huh?", Steven watched the other's leave, breathing a sigh of relief he wasn't at risk of being eaten anymore, but being suprised with how uncaring this lion was to his presence.
"I wonder if pink diamond can bring back animals and that's why that lion is pink?", he thought to himself, approaching the now sleeping pink lion, as he got closer it woke up again, making him jump back. "erm...hey Mr lion...d-do you know p-pink dia- I mean rose quartz?", Steven nervously asked, speaking the animal's language. "Rooseeeeee", the creature yawned, wanting to sleep again, slightly angry steven had woken them up, "ah! so you do know her! I wonder if you connect to the bismuth I've been hearing so much about! My visions about the missing bismuth do seem to lead to you!".
Steven started to approach the lion again, "I wonder if you mane is like durgy's fur", he said, moving his hand to the fur, as his hand touched the fur, it glowed and his hand sunk though, seeming to lead somewhere but when he tried to put the rest of his hand inside, those images of sapphire flashed again with her loudly yelling "BISMUTH!!!", echoing all around him. Steven jumped back, shivering and holding his head, those visions much more intence than usual, the lion growled at him and walked away, going to lie down slightly further away. "maybe bismuth...is in there?" He thought, looking down at his hand, it was definitely able to go through the mane.
"Hey Mr lion!", he told the pink animal, approaching them again, this time with more of a plan. "I am here on behalf of rose quartz! She told me to look for you and I need to go in your mane!", he lied as best as he could, surprisingly it worked, the lion walked up to steven, growled at him then shoved his face into its mane with its front paw, the fur glowed and Steven's face sunk into it, leading him to a very familar looking place.
Steven's head was now in a familar field of fur but this time completely pink, he crawled through the fur and and to a nearby small island he could see in the middle of the fur. The trees here where different compared to the ones inside the animals his mother revived but everything else looked the same but pink. "Alright miss bismuth where could you be!", he thought, looking around. On the island was quite a lot of things, a Mr universe shirt hung over one of the tree's branches, looking at that made steven remember his father's traitorous friendship wirh rose quartz, it angered him but he needed to stay calm for now, at the corner of the tree sat a large locked treasure chest, next to that was a giant pink sword stuck in the ground, steven had heard about that sword, before the truth was revealed it was believed that was the weapon used to kill pink diamond, and finally, just below the tree, floated a bubble with the unmistakable gem of a bismuth inside it.
Steven flew up and gently picked up the bubble, fearing more images would flash when he touched it but surprisingly nothing did, he had finally got the gem he had been searching for. "there you are bismuth!", he told the bubble, "can't wait to show you to your friends, they've been looking for you!". He walked down the island and went back into the fur field, looking around one last time, "its weird you'd be here, did pink put you in? I wonder why?", he thought, looking down to the bubble before he existed.
Steven jumped out of the glowing fur and did an impressive flip back onto the sand, the lion just stared at him, unimpressed with his dramatic entrance. "thanks for that! Rose needed this! Thats why i was sent!", he told the lion, "do you possibly know why rose put this in you?", the lion didn't seem to listen anymore and just went to sleep again, steven huffed, "are you kidding me!?", he summoned his wings, "maybe ill get some answers when I get home", he flew into the air, trying to find his way home, he must've been gone for days now, his family had to be searching for him or at least worried about him.
