"So let me get this straight, you're blue diamond and some human man's son, and this whole time rose quartz the leader of the crystal gems, my leader, WAS PINK DIAMOND!?", bismuth exclaimed, still not being able to grasp the situation fully. "rose had many secrets she kept from us, with this seemingly being her biggest, she must've created the fake identity so the diamonds wouldn't punish her for being a traitor", garnet replied, bismuth and garnet sat next to eachother in between steven on his bed, both of them where very tall and basically crushing him, his knees where being pushed into his chin and if he had lungs he'd be suffocating.
Bismuth got up from the bed, giving steven some room finally and went to look out the window. "And white diamond really got to pearl", she turned back to garnet and steven who was recovering from being crushed, "WHO KNOWS WHAT SHE COULD BE DOING TO HER!", bismuth cried, "pearl was closest to rose and definitely knew her secret! White could probably being using all sorts of weird diamond magic to go in her mind and see everything!". "I saw what happened to her", steven spoke up, he'd been quiet for a long time, "pearl was turned into a complete zombie! White's pearl was like that too, they didn't really move, just glided around and they didn't even speak! They had....", Steven shivered thinking about it, "White's voice instead of hers, she took everything from them". Bismuth looked away and bowed her head, "i heard rumours white diamond was capable of such evil, but I never knew it was true", she said, turning back to them, sadness in her eyes, "we need to go to homeworld, we need to get her back!".
"But how will we do that! White diamond is really strong!", Steven cried, jumping off his bed "we don't know what she's really capable of!". "It's not about fighting her yet, we're just gonna save our old friend, a little rescue mission right under her nose", bismuth smirked at him, garnet shook her head and crossed her arms, "that definitely won't end well, I don't need my future vision to know this, pearl is currently in white diamonds own ship with her, and white can see everything through her eyes, it will be impossible to just lead her out".
Bismuth looked down to steven, "you told homeworld you're one of them right?", she asked, "a diamond?", Steven replied, bismuth nodded, "oh, yeah I did, I haven't really started working properly as one though-", "good enough!", bismuth interrupted him. She crouched down to be at eye level with steven and whispered to him, "you and blue are the ones who can lead pearl out, then you two and maybe me and some backup will need to catch her!". "we kinda tried that before", Steven told her, no hope in the plan, "well this time you'll be able to", bismuth took a long piece of paper and a pen out her gem and began writing, she folded the paper up like a scroll and gave it to steven, "give this to your mother, won't you?", she said, Steven looked to the scroll then to bismuth, "why can't you just talk to her?", he asked, bismuth rolled her eyes, "she may be acting peaceful right now but I'm still not gonna join a diamond like her", she cursed, Steven sighed and walked away, "fine", he said under his breath, trying to find his mother.
"She wants us to try and fight the powers of white diamond on our own!?", blue laughed, holding the scroll containing bismuth's plan, she was out by the seashore drawing with her pearl. "I tried to tell her it was stupid but she didn't listen", steven said, his voice very quiet compared to blue's loud laughter. "honestly I don't think we can ever get pearl back, she seemed like she was really close with bismuth and it makes me feel awful to say this but it really seems like the case", Steven confessed, blue stopped laughing and looked down to him, she smiled, "don't beat yourself up about it, after finding out pink diamond was alive this whole time and having a half gem, half human son, I realised everything is possible, maybe one day there is a chance that this pearl can be free, but", blue stood back up and looked up to space, "I'm not sure it's anytime soon, we'll need a lot of help to stop white diamond, all of homeworld would need to ally with us".
Steven's eyes widened as a realisation hit him, he looked up to his mother, "mum, I know who can help us!", he exclaimed, jumping up in the air as he felt energy and exitement fill him, he summoned his wings and flew to his room as fast as he could, blue followed after. Bismuth and garnet where still in his room and where terrfied when blue flew in, both of them froze and nervously looked at eachother, fearing for their lives.
Steven grabbed pink diamond's bubble he had hidden under his bed in case bismuth broke it and showed it to blue, "she can help us!", he told her, blue raised an eyebrow and took the bubble from him. "pink has hurt a lot of people, if you are suggesting making her a proper ruler of homeworld again you're an idiot", blue snapped at him, a shiver ran down Steven's spine, bismuth and garnet nervously looked away, both knew to not mess with her. "No no! Well kinda", Steven studdered, trying to remember his plan after his mother scared him, "I remember back on homeworld you and her spoke a lot, you even fought against yellow together, she did do a lot of awful things but there's still crystal gems like bismuth out there that don't trust you for being a diamond, but they would trust their old leader!", "so you're saying she should live her fake life as rose again?", bismuth interrupted, Steven shook his head, "NO NO! NEVER!", he cried, "I'm going to make her apologise to everyone, then as her final apology she'll join us against white diamond! It was her pearl that was taken after all maybe she can get her back!".
"Fine then, we'll keep watch of her, but her doing a proper apology would probably take a couple thousand years", blue said, giving him back the bubble, Steven looked down at the bubble then let go of it, letting it float back under his bed, "I'll tell yellow to come back, then you can release her, but after the ship incident i dont trust her with anything!", blue said, leaving his room. As soon as the door closed bismuth breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the bed, "thank stars she's gone, how do you deal with her!?", she asked steven, "shes not like this all the time! It's understandable she's so mad about pink", he tried desperately to show these crystal gems his mother wasn't the cruel leader they saw her as but every time blue appeared to them they'd only see that side.
"Well", bismuth jumped off the bed and stretched, "I'm gonna go spar outside, maybe make some weapons, garnet care to join me?", garnet have her a thumbs up and they both left Steven's room, now he was alone, his plan had definitely failed and his mother was probably mad at him. He lay face down on the bed and loudly huffed, "We can't just keep pink locked away forever", he thought to himself, dipping his head over the edge of his bed to look down and see the glowing bubble hidden underneath. "homeworld needs to know the truth", he picked up the bubble and held it in his hands, "she needs to APOLGISE!", he pushed his hands on each side, lightly pressing it and accidentally popping the bubble in the process.
The large pink gem fell on his bed and started to glow, he started to panic, clumsily picking it up and bubbling it again before she could form, nearly dropping the gem multiple times in the process. He quickly hid it under his bed and lay down, he was now hyperventilating, he was seconds away from letting pink free. "I nearly let her out! I nearly let her out!", he whispered to himself, praying no one saw that.
He got off his bed and went to the windows, ready to put the blinds over them, he needed some darkness so he could rest his eyes, when he looked down he saw pearl looking up to him, when they made eyecontact she looked away and went in the house. Steven put his room in complete darkness and hid under the covers, "did pearl see!?", he asked himself, hugging his knees, pink didn't form but she nearly did, if anyone knew about this blue would punish him greatly.
The door to his room slowly opened with a loud, long creaking sound, Steven nervously poked his head up from the covers, there stood pearl, she closed the door behind her and stood next to his bed. "H-hey pearl', Steven nervously greeted her, "I saw", pearl said, Steven went completely white, he flinched and terror filled his eyes, "but don't worry, my steven, I won't tell a soul", she continued, leaving the room after.
