“Dr. Austin Texas?”

Austin shifted his body on his chair. Napamulat ito sa sunod-sunod na katok ng nurse sa labas ng kanyang opisina. He threw a dagger look on the door before massaging his temple.

“Come in.” he said and put on his usual eye glasses. His lips are in thin line as one of Allura’s nurse friend, hung a head behind his door.

“Dr. Texas. Pinapatawag kayo ni Dr. Veranno sa office niya.”

“Why?” kaagad siyang tumayo at kinuha ang lab-coat sa likod ng kanyang swivel chair, he put the stethoscope on his neck, urging himself to prepare.

“Hindi ko po alam. About po ‘ata sa palpak na experiment ni Allura—”

“What? hindi ‘yon palpak!” he frowned. Yumuko lang ang babae. He tsk and walk pass by her, mabilis itong tumungo sa opisina ni Dr. Verrano at gaya ng kanyang inaasahan, naroon nga si Allura. Her shoulder fell as she saw him walking towards them. Tumayo naman si Dr. Veranno na nakakunot ang noo, pumamewang ito at pinanood ang pag lapit ni Dr. Austin Texas sa kanila.

“Allura...” Austin look at her with confusion.

Allura bit her lower lip and shook her head. Tumingin si Austin kay Dr. Veranno.

“Austin, alam mo ba kung anong klaseng experiment itong ginawa ni Allura? this is illegal!”

“Let me explain about it, Veranno.”

“H-Huwag na, Austin—”

“Ohhh. Knight in shining armor ah?” humalakhak si Dr. Veranno at ngumisi sa dalawa. Austin’s jaw clenched.

Umirap lamang si Veranno dahil sinabi na rin ito ni Allura kanina.

“Plus. It was added an antidote that can kill any kind of germs. Ang Pastrellia na in-experiment ko for almost a year ay safe! hindi mo pwedeng sabihin na hindi dahil hindi mo alam ang mahirap na process no’n!”

“You think, Allura. Kapag narinig ng mga tao na non-doctors and non-scientist ang salitang venom ng ahas at pusa, sa tingin mo iisipin nilang safe ‘yan? aatras na ang mga ‘yan kapag narinig nila ang katagang ‘yan! and there’s no antidote that can k*ll any kind of germs! you’re a mad scientist!”

Dumapo ang palad ni Allura rito. Veranno step back, kaagad nitong sinapo ang pisnging sinampal ng babae. Allura is pissed, she took off her eye glasses, revealing her almond shaped brown eyes that is full of anger.

“I’m not a mad scientist! you f*cker!” hindi pa nakuntento ay tinulak niya pa ito, sa lakas no’n ay napa atras si Veranno at tumama ang likuran sa isang shelf. He groaned.

Mabilis ang hininga ni Allura na lumabas roon at tinungo ang kanyang opisina. Handa na siyang umalis sa hospital dahil wala naman siyang mapapala sa director nila. Kahit si Austin na kasama niyang gumawa ng kalahating proseso para matapos ang pastrellia venom. She’s in the urge of leaving when the door suddenly open. Marahas niyang nilingon si Austin na biglang pumasok.
