Khaotung woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. It was around three a.m and he just fell asleep a little while ago. Since he slept at his place for the first time in forever again, it was hard for him to calm down so that his body could become tired. "Fucking hell.." he cursed and switched on the light. "Hello ?"
Khaotung sat up with his heart pounding. "What?" His breathing became more and more hectic and he jumped out of bed to run around and look for his clothes. "I'll be right there." he said, hung up and dialed Firsts number. He didn't even think about how late it was until he heard the other mans sleepy voice. With tears in his eyes and a trembling voice, Khao tried to get sentences out.
"I need to go home!" he called out in panic. "Hey, everything's fine, Khao. Calm down. What happened?" Khao was crying bitterly and didn't even notice that First was already getting dressed on the other end of the Facetime call. "The police... I... there was a call!" "A call, okay. You're doing great, baby. What was it about?" "My parents. The grave." "What about the grave?" "Someone has it... It's been vandalized again..." he said and cried and cried. "I have to go home. I have to go to Mae and Por." he sobbed. "It's all fine, baby. I'm on my way now. Stay calm, stay in the apartment. I'll stay on the phone with you, okay?" Khao nodded and tried to breathe slowly. He listened to Firsts voice, which had such a calming effect. His boyfriend woke up his parents to tell them that he had to leave urgently and that they should please look after Min. His parents weren't angry, on the contrary. His father even offered to drive him to Khao, but First politely declined. He knew that would be too much for Khaotung. So he ran to the car and drove to Khao as fast as he could, using Facetime the whole time. The minutes felt like hours to Khao, but soon First was standing in front of him and pulled him tightly into his arms, where he could let himself fall and knew he was safe. "It's okay, baby. Come on, let's pack a few things and then we'll leave." First said gently, pulled Khaotung to the bed and started packing some clothes and toiletries for him.
"Why can't people leave my parents alone?" Khao asked suddenly and Firsts heart sank. "They didn't do anything to anyone and, apart from their problems, they were great parents." First nodded. "Sometimes people are just awful, my darling. That certainly has nothing to do with your parents, but simply with people being unhappy with themselves." Khao looked up with his swollen eyes and again First felt a sting in his chest. "Come on, we can go." he said and pulled Khaotung up, put an arm around his shoulders and helped him put on his shoes at the door.🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
"Good morning." "Good morning, my partner was just alerted about his parents' grave..." "Rattanakitpaisan ?" "Yes." "And who are you?" "I'm his boyfriend." "Good, I'd like to talk to him, you have nothing to do with it." First had to control himself so that he didn't get louder. Khaotung was deliberately standing a little further behind him, the poor man was completely out of sorts. "Listen, he's having a bad night." "Most people who show up here at this time of day have." said the man, annoyed. "Lookjun." called another voice and suddenly the unfriendly policeman became nervous. "You're not paid to annoy people in need of help. What kind of behavior is that?" "I'm sorry, sir, I just wanted to-" "You wanted to annoy Khaotung, but you know full well that I'm waiting for him." First became more and more angry. "We'll talk about that later." said the other policeman and Lookjun nodded. "Khaotung, would you please come in?" Khao nodded and followed the officer, holding Firsts hand pretty tightly. "Please, sit down." First and Khaotung sat there at the big table and looked at the policeman. "Khaotung, I'm so sorry that this happened again." Khao grimaced and fought back tears. "The grave was vandalized, your mothers tombstone was smeared with vulgar words... we will try to get the paint off as soon as we find the culprit. "What does it say there?" "Khao, I don't think-" "What does it say there?!" he asked again. The policeman sighed and showed Khao photos. "Cocksucker." Khao read out. "Quicky cunt." "Khao..." First grabbed the pictures and Khao buried his face in his hands. "Baby..." suddenly the young man jumped up and ran out of the room, First immediately ran after him. He found himself in front of the toilet cubicle where Khao was kneeling in front of the toilet and vomiting his entire stomach contents into it. "Khao, I'm here." First said to the crying boy, but Khao blocked him. "Can I be alone for a moment?" he asked and vomited again.

First stood helplessly in front of the door and listened to his boyfriend trying to calm his stomach through tears. "Here." said the policeman and held a coffee in front of Firsts nose. He accepted it gratefully and both stood there in silence until the officer spoke. "You know, Khao and I have known each other since school. I was a bit of an asshole to him because I wanted to fit in. My parents never had much money and I was always the target until he came along. I didn't even know why he was treated like that, I think most of the people who bullied him didn't knew that." First just stared at him. "As a teenager and now as an adult, I know what we did to him. After everything he had already been through..." "Why are you telling me this?" "Rung. My name is Rung. And probably because I know that I don't deserve his trust and forgiveness, but I would still like to help him." First nodded and the door opened behind him. "Are you feeling better, Khao?" asked Rung, but Khao didn't answer. He just walked back into the office and waited for the other two. First sat down next to his boyfriend again. Rung came back with a glass of water for Khao and handed it to him, but Khao refused to take it. "Babe, please, you need to drink something." First said but Khao didn't answer. "Baby ?" He asked once again but Khao simply turned to him and fell into his arms. First held him tight and stroked his back. "Khaotung, there is a little hope." First pricked up his ears. "What kind of hope?" "We have a good lead." he added and Khao tilted his head. "A good lead?" "Yes. We have a fingerprint. A fingerprint and a phantom image."
Khao remained lying in Firsts arms but turned slightly to look. "Do you recognize this man?" "No." said Khao in a rough voice. "Where did you get the picture from?" asked First and Rung cleared his throat. "I saw the perpetrator, but unfortunately I couldn't catch him." Khao swallowed. "You couldn't catch him again? That was the seventh time in three years and you couldn't catch him again?" "The seventh time?" asked First, shocked. "Shit, what are you even here for?" screamed Khao and suddenly jumped up. "Khao, calm down baby." First tried to grab his hand but Khao didn't let him. "It's been years since my parents died, yet I never had a damn chance to mourn them in peace."
Rung looked at the file in front of him. "My parents never did anything bad to anyone, they were addicted, yes, but they never hurt anyone. They loved me and I can proudly say that despite their problems, they were the best parents I could have wished for. You can't even leave them alone in the grave. Yes, Rung, you act so hypocritical, but damn, I haven't forgotten what you and your shitty friends did to me. Your shitty words, the nasty looks. The notes you stuck to my back, what you told others about me. Not even what your shitty parents said about my mom and dad! You crossed boundaries and never apologized for it, and you've been destroying your only chance to make it right again and again for years! Catch that damn bastard who's doing this to my parents and put him behind bars and then finally leave me alone forever." Rung nodded. His gaze full of shame and guilt. "We're currently trying to find a match to the fingerprint in our database." He said and Khaotung finally sat down again. "Khao, I am really sorry for everything I did to you. I was a stupid child and I didn't knew better. I just wanted to fit in." "Well too bad, I just wanted to fit in as well but you guys didn't give me a fucking chance." ... "Are we done here ?" Khaotung asked coldly. "Yes, we'll contact you for the next steps, please be reachable." "I'm always reachable. That's why I'm here, remember.." he said and finally walked out of the damn policestation. First followed him outside and took a deep breath. Without saying anything, he walked over to Khao and just pulled him in a hug. He instantly began to cry again as he felt the others warmth. "We should check in at a hotel tonight. We can go back tomorrow. This way we'll be able to use this day to sort out everything else." Khao nodded and looked up to the sky. "I will fight so that you can finally rest in peace." He told his parents. Khao let go of First and went back to the car without saying a word. Sitting in the car, he waited for First to come over so he could finally get away from this police headquarters.🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
