"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you ?" First asked worried. "I am sure baby. I can do this. Besides that - you have two exams and you have to help your mom on tuesday." Khao answered as he packed his bag. He turned to look at his boyfriend and put his arms around his neck. "I got this baby." "I'm always available if anything happens, okay? I'll immediately come over if you text or call me." Khao nodded and gave his boyfriend a kiss.
They went downstairs together. The restaurant was still quiet and his parents were sitting downstairs drinking coffee while Min played with his toy car. "I'm off now." said Khaotung and looked at the three of them. "Oh darling, take care of yourself. If anything happens, call us immediately. We'll come over." said Firsts mother and hugged him. They didn't know everything - but they knew that Khaotungs parents had died and he had to sort out a few things. They didn't want to stress them out or drag them into it which would happen if they knew more. "And even if you just need someone to talk to, you have our houses phone number." said Firsts father and hugged Khao as well to comfort him. "You also have my phone number, my darling!" added the older woman and gave him a thumbs up. "Por Khao ?" asked Min with a sad look on his face. "Where are you going?" "I have to go home for a while, my darling." "But this is your home." said the little boy and started to cry. "Come here." said Khao and picked up the little boy, who immediately clung to his father. "I'll be back in the blink of an eye. We can call and talk every day, okay?" "But I want you to be here." the little boy continued to cry. "Please." "I'd rather stay here too, but it's important, Min Min. I promise you, I'll be back as soon as possible." "Come on, Min, we'll take Por Khao to the car, okay?" First said and took his boyfriends bag. "I don't want Por Khao to leave!" protested Min, crying, and Khao felt like he was crying every second himself, but also proud because his boy loves him as much as he loves his little one.
Khaotung put his bag in the trunk of the car and walked around the car to his family. "I'll call you this evening, Min-Joo, I promise." he said, holding out his little finger. "Okay..." the boy sniffed and gave his Por a pinky promise. "Khao, please let me know if anything happens." Firsts parents said again and hugged him goodbye before they went inside to give their boys some privacy. "Let me know when you get there, okay, sweetheart?" "I will, baby." He nodded and gave his boyfriend a kiss. First held Khao tightly in his arms, not wanting to let go of him. "Can I have a goodbye kiss, Min?" asked Khao, pointing to his cheek. The little one nodded and, still crying, he gave his por Khao a kiss and held his arms tightly around his neck, as if he was trying to stop Khao from driving. "Singto, por Khao has to go." said First, now with tears in his eyes. Khao would only be away for a week, but First was extremely worried. He was alone in his home town. Alone with the chaos, alone with himself... Besides, the two were now used to falling asleep and waking up next to each other. Both were sure that falling asleep would be particularly difficult now. Khao did his best to hold back his own tears. Tears of fear of what awaited him there. Tears because he would be separated from his family. Tears because he had secretly reached a point of complete overwhelm. After another 10 minutes of saying goodbye, he got into the car, drove off and kept looking in the rearview mirror on the way out of the street.

"Khaotung, I told you I would get in touch with you." "Well, too bad, because I'm here and I want answers." "I can't give you any answers without a confession. As much as I want to and even though I know it was him, without a confession or clear evidence, I can't do anything and have to wait for further instructions." Rung said and looked into Khaos eyes, apologetically. "Shit, can we even rely on anything you idiots do or say here?" "Be careful, boy-" said one of the policemen, but Rung raised his hand and signaled for him to sit down. "Listen Khaotung... I'll let you know immediately, the second I know something, no matter how small that something is. I understand that you came here to get some new informations, but I can't help you. At least not yet." The young man looked at the other and sighed. Khaotung actually wanted to tell what Sun had told him. He wanted to beg him to start investigations, but something... some voice in his head screamed at him not to do it. "You know.. I wish my parents had been as important to society as they were to me. That people had seen what great people they were. Maybe then everything would have happened quicker." He said and turned around, bumpung into a familiar face. "Khaotung !" The young man said excited. "Ayra.." Khaotung left the police station and went to his car. He was angry and conflicted. What should he do?
He tried to think clearly and drove to his house. The journey there didn't seem that long, but now he was standing in front of the house and just kept staring at it. He didn't go in or take another step towards it until his phone rang and brought him out of his trance.
"Hello ?" He said, he didn't even look at the name on his display. He searched for the right key and almost in a panic he unlocked the door, which he finally pushed shut with his foot. "Hello? I can hardly hear you Fir, I have a bad connection?" he said and then the call ended.
He quickly threw his things in the corner, ran over to the router and entered the WiFi password, but his phone wouldn't connect. Khaotung ran through the whole house looking for a connection and when he finally had three bars and was able to call First back, he didn't answer, which made the young man gasp. "Are you kidding me Fir ?" He said out loud.
He put his cell phone on the sideboard and decided to unpack his things first. Clothes in the closet, food, drinks and snacks in the kitchen. A picture of him with First and Min-Joo in the living room and the blanket that the little boy had given him at the last minute at home..
Now Khaotung stood there - everything was done and he was alone with his thoughts. Alone in his house. Somehow he felt strangely liberated and somehow at the same time he felt as if he had an enormous burden on his shoulders. The young man just stood there, in the middle of the room. For a few minutes he said nothing and was completely lost in thought...
until his phone rang again. "Hello?" he said as he answered the facetime call from First. "Khao, I was so worried." he said, making his boyfriend smile before finally bursting into tears. "Khao?" "Fir, I feel so lost." he cried out loudly. "I don't know what to do, I can't do anything to get justice for my parents. Instead, I'm standing here alone in the house and thought I could manage to be here alone, but I can't." "Calm down, my love." said First and smiled gently at Khaotung. "Can you come to me ?" First looked at the younger one and said nothing. "I know it's pointless because I said you should go to university and you would'nt have to come here and do this special trip with me, but I can't do it alone." he cried bitterly. "First?" he asked again, but the image had stopped. "Fir fir?" The screen froze and Khaotung sighed but seconds later the image came back on and Khaotung watched as First ran through his room and packed things. "Fir fir ?" He asked and the other turned around to face the phone again. "Don't worry baby, I'm on my way." First said but Khao couldn't even answer. His phone died and he just looked at his reflection on the black screen.🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
"Thank you for coming here." Khaotung said and snuggled closer to his boyfriend. First stroked the others soft hair, snuggled close together in Khaotungs bed. It was late and they were tired but unable to go to sleep. Both felt that it was not the time to sleep. Whether it was because First actually had to be at the university in about five hours - just like Khaotung. Or whether it was because one of the two would wake Min-Joo up and get him ready for his daycare in four hours. Or whether it was simply because Khaotung was planning to take matters into his own hands from now on...
Whatever it was, it was exhausting for both of them, but First tried, as always, to see the positive side of the situation.
"At least we can both cuddle for longer and even fully experience it." He said, giggling like a little kid. "I love you Fir fir." "I love you too, Khao."
Their sweet time together ended with two hours of sleep for both of them and a shrill alarm that made them jump out of bed faster than they would have liked.
They got ready in no time and found themselves a short time later - without breakfast - on their way across the street.🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
"Boys, oh my god, I was worried about you." Coco immediately pulled the two into her arms. She hadn't seen them since the day Khao noticed the break-in at his condo and because of all the stress the boys had, she rarely got First and Khao to write back and if they did, it was only a few words anyway. "Come in, guys, come in. Do you want something to drink? A coffee, something cold ?" "No thanks, nothing for me." "And for you, Khao?" "Can I have a water?" "Of course you can have water." said Coco, looking at Khaotung with a gentle smile. "Make yourselves at home, my dears, sit down wherever you want."
It didn't take long before the pretty girl sat down next to them, a tray with small snacks and water on the table in front of them. "How are you guys?" she asked cautiously and Khaotung sighed. "Coco, I have news..." Khaotung explained, visibly panicking her. "You're scaring me." she admitted and giggled uncertainly. "Coco, we found my parents' murderer... And it's not Sun."🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙🌙
